Job Description

Google Photos seeks Software Engineers II specializing in Machine Learning. Responsibilities include writing product/system code, participating in design reviews, code review, contributing to documentation, issue triage and debugging. The role requires 1+ years of software development experience (Python, C++, Java, JavaScript etc.), experience with data structures/algorithms, and familiarity with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., TensorFlow). The ideal candidate will contribute to enhancing Google Photos, a leading photo sharing and storage service, across client-side (web/mobile), server-side (search/storage/serving), and machine intelligence aspects.
Good To Have:
  • Master's/PhD in CS or related field
  • Experience with accessible technologies
  • 1+ year experience with ML algorithms and tools (TensorFlow)
  • Experience in AI, deep learning, or NLP
Must Have:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
