Job Description

The Device Management Quality Engineering team is seeking a passionate and proactive Software Engineer in Test to join their Device Management team. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing automated tests to ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of device management products. The successful candidate will work in a cross-functional team on projects like Classroom, Apple Configurator, and the Remote Management framework, collaborating with software engineers, project managers, and other quality teams across Apple to deliver high-quality operating systems. The position requires a blend of manual and automated testing, focusing on both large-scale projects and meticulous UI details.
Must Have:
  • Develop and maintain robust test automation frameworks for device management products across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and tvOS platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to identify root causes of issues, facilitate post-mortem discussions, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines by effectively coordinating with development, product and QA teams while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement of test infrastructure by designing scalable test plans, creating comprehensive test cases, and enhancing automation coverage.
  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience writing and triaging automated software tests (e.g., unit, regression, functional, and stress tests).
  • Experience writing code in Python, Objective-C, or Swift to test APIs, SDKs, and frameworks.
  • Experience with XCTest and Xcode.
  • Experience developing test plans, assessing risk, filing appropriate bugs, and consolidating bug reports.
  • Experience driving the development and deployment of relevant testing tools and infrastructure.
  • Meticulous, analytical, and creative problem-solver with a passion for quality processes.
  • Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose resolutions.
  • Ability to work independently, raise issues, and take corrective action.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Employees also have the opportunity to become a shareholder through participation in discretionary employee stock programs. Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
