About the job:
As a Software Engineer on the Match System team at YouTube, you will work on designing and implementing advancements to Match System technology. You will be responsible for launching new client use cases, new types of content, and new algorithms. You will also work with the leads of the Match System Infrastructure to ensure that the system is scalable and reliable. This role is critical to the success of YouTube and will allow you to have a direct impact on the way millions of users experience the platform.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 2+ years experience in building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems
  • Experience in software engineering and with programming language like C++
  • Experience with system design
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of the YouTube ecosystem
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment with a focus on knowledge sharing and collaboration

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
  • Experience in software engineering and with programming language like C++.
  • Experience with system design.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the YouTube ecosystem.
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment with a focus on knowledge sharing and collaboration.

  • Launch new client use cases (e.g. detect reuse of audio across all videos on YouTube), new types of content (e.g. scan YouTube uploads to detect Artificial Intelligence generated music) or new algorithms (e.g. novel indexing algorithm).
