As a Software Engineering Manager in Billing Finance at Google, you'll lead and manage a team of engineers, overseeing major projects and ensuring optimal code performance. You'll contribute to product strategy, manage project goals, and develop your team's skills. Responsibilities include understanding program objectives, designing data transformation pipelines using BigQuery, developing applications using Java/BigQuery, translating business requirements into technical solutions, maintaining high development practices, and delivering compliant, secure solutions. You'll work with various technologies and across multiple teams and locations, managing a large product budget and overseeing international deployments.

Experience in complex organizations

8+ years software development experience
3+ years technical leadership
2+ years people management
Experience with Java/BigQuery
Data pipeline design (BigQuery)

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

Understand the overall program objectives, technical dependencies and find a solution leveraging SAP and First Party products.
Design, develop and manage data transformation pipelines to build financial data products from other data sources using BigQuery technology stack.
Develop, build, and deploy applications using various platforms and technologies like Java/BigQuery. Work with analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Maintain highest levels of development practices, including technical design, solution development, systems configuration, test documentation/execution, issue identification and resolution, writing clean, modular code.
Deliver solutions that meet all the expectations compliance, privacy and security standards.
