Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Go).
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  • Experience working with one or more of the following: distributed and parallel systems, networking, developing software systems, or security software development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Experience building performant, reliable, and simple-to-develop-on infrastructure.
  • Passionate for technology with the ability to rally a group around a shared goal.

This mission of the Administrative Access Platform team is to guarantee that all privileged access to user and sensitive data by Googlers meets security, regulatory, and compliance requirements, thereby safeguarding our users and protecting Google. We build and operate the foundational platform infrastructure that governs how Googlers access sensitive resources across Alphabet. This includes ensuring auditable compliance with all legal, security, product, and regulatory commitments. AAP Auditing and Reporting is a central part of AAP, which serves the critical function of ensuring that every privileged access to sensitive information and operations is meticulously recorded and can be audited by Alphabet and its customers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Provide management and technical leadership to a team of infrastructure software engineers. Ensure ambiguous projects and complex technical efforts are executed effectively and efficiently by team leads and software engineers.
  • Set technical direction for Administrative Access Platform (AAP) Logging, Reporting and Auditing and help with the overall AAP strategy and technical direction.
  • Develop software, tooling, and infrastructure with a focus on long-term maintenance.
  • Collaborate cross-team with partners, TLs, UX, PMs, TPMs, and other domain experts to translate product requirements into technical outcomes.
  • Ensure best-practices in design, development, infrastructure, security, privacy, and software maintenance.
