Job Description

TransUnion is dedicated to using information to help people make better decisions, improving quality of life globally. This Sr Consultant role in Data Performance focuses on data quality, management, and risk, crucial for TransUnion's mission to deliver 'Information for Good'. The team, part of Global Data Asset Management, aims for continuous database improvement and provides insights to maximize value from credit data, monitoring and reporting on data quality throughout its lifecycle.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Economics, Management Information Systems, Business Administration and other related fields, with 7-9 years of work experience
  • Hands-on experience writing SQL queries and Linux command line tools
  • Experience with Big Data technologies including Apache Hadoop, Spark and Hive
  • Relevant experience working with big data, data management, and data performance
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong scenario analysis, tactical evaluation, and analytical and problem solving skills leading to practical business application and ability to work in an agile environment
  • Proven leadership abilities and project management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate analytical and statistical concepts and results for presentation at senior leadership level
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for improvement and drive initiatives to completion
Good to have:
  • Experience in the financial services or consumer data industries, specifically credit data solutions
  • Experience with Tableau, Ab Initio, Python and R
  • Familiarity with AWS and cloud native data processing tools like Redshift, EMR and Snowflake

What You'll Bring:

This position is in Data Performance, a discipline that has emerged at the critical intersection between data quality, data management, data policy, business process management, and risk management. Data quality and sound data architecture/management continues to be a crucial piece of TransUnion’s mission to deliver ‘Information for Good’ to consumers and customers. Our group is an area with tremendous opportunities for you to put your gifts and passion to work on complex ‘big data’ issues. The Data Performance team is part of TransUnion’s Global Data Asset Management organization and our key objectives are continuous improvement of the database and equipping internal areas and external customers with insights needed to gain maximum value from our core asset, credit data. TransUnion's data quality is monitored, measured, and reported on at all stages of the data’s lifecycle and trends and insights are published via data quality dashboards.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
