GoFundMe is seeking a Staff Product Designer to join a triad leadership team, collaborating with Product and Engineering to define vision, strategy, and execution for critical initiatives. This role focuses on creating real human impact by designing empathetic and clear experiences for users asking for help. Responsibilities include defining experience strategy, leveraging data for design decisions, facilitating workshops, creating high-fidelity designs, contributing to the design system, and collaborating on product features.
Must have:
  • Help define the experience strategy for the product.
  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative data to drive design decisions.
  • Facilitate design workshops with cross-functional team members.
  • Create and deliver high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and specifications.
  • Contribute to and help evolve the Heart design system.
  • Collaborate with the product team to turn conceptual ideas into valuable product features.
  • Actively participate in group design critiques.
  • 7-10 years of experience as a Product Designer.
  • Experience designing for CRMs and SAAS products.
  • Expert understanding of the formal elements of design.
  • Great aesthetic judgment and attention to detail.
  • Skilled at articulating design decisions.
  • End-to-end experience designing consumer-facing experiences for web and native apps.
  • Problem solver requiring very little guidance.
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize, manage workloads, and meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Empathetic and user-centered approach to design.
  • Experience working with a lean team of Engineers, Product Managers and User Researchers.

The GoFundMe team is searching for our next Staff Product Designer to help people overcome one of the hardest things they’ll ever do: asking for help. This role isn’t just about pixels and prototypes—it’s about empathy, clarity, and creating real human impact.

You’ll be a core part of a triad leadership team, working shoulder-to-shoulder with your Product and Engineering partners to shape the vision, strategy, and execution of our most critical initiatives. Together, you’ll drive cross-functional collaboration, unlock user value, and guide the evolution of our platform. We’re looking for a creative, strategic thinker with strong craft and a deep sense of purpose. Someone who thrives in ambiguity, leads with curiosity, and brings others along for the journey.

Candidates considered for this role will be located in the San Francisco Bay Area. There will be an in-office requirement of 3x a week.

The Job…

  • Help define the experience strategy for the product and work with other designers to drive consensus across teams.
  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative data to drive design decisions that create user value and business impact.
  • Facilitate design workshops with cross-functional team members to ideate, brainstorm, and establish conceptual direction.
  • Create and deliver high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and specifications.
  • Contribute to and help evolve the Heart design system.
  • Collaborate with the product team to take conceptual ideas and turn them into usable, delightful, and valuable product features.
  • Actively participate in group design critiques to solicit and provide thoughtful feedback.

  • 7-10 years of experience as a Product Designer working in-house or at an agency
  • Experience designing for CRMs and SAAS products
  • Bring an expert understanding of the formal elements of design, including typography, layout, balance, and proportion
  • You have great aesthetic judgment and attention to detail
  • You are skilled at articulating your design decisions.
  • End-to-end experience designing consumer-facing experiences for web and native apps.
  • You are a problem solver that requires very little guidance on projects and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have the ability to take initiative, prioritize, manage workloads, and meet project deadlines.
  • You are an excellent communicator and can clearly articulate your design decisions, ideas, and vision.
  • You are empathetic and have a user-centered approach to design.

The total annual salary for this full-time position is $181,000 - $271,000 + equity + benefits. As this is a hybrid position, the salary range was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
