Job Description

This role requires close collaboration with design engineers, marketing, and other test engineers. The candidate will be responsible for understanding feature requirements and translating them into test cases and automation. Key responsibilities include quickly and effectively executing testing assignments and possessing a strong understanding of data networking concepts. This includes working knowledge of Layer 2 protocols like STP/MSTP/RSTP, 802.1q/ad/aq, 802.3ah, and 802.1ag/Y.1731 (Ethernet OAM/CFM), as well as Layer 3 protocols such as IPv4/IPv6, OSPFv2/v3, IS-IS, BGP4, IGMP, and PIM-SM/SSM. Experience with VxLAN, L2VPN (Pseudowire, VPLS), and L3VPN (BGP/MPLS VPN) technologies is beneficial.

Good To Have:

Exposure to VxLAN, L2VPN, L3VPN
Strong knowledge of product verification methodologies
Experience in performance and throughput testing
Experience with test tools (Ixia, Smartbits, STC)
Experience with packet sniffers
Experience with Rational ClearQuest

Must Have:

Strong data networking concepts
Working knowledge of L2 protocols
Working knowledge of Layer-3 Protocols
Experience in scripting languages (Perl, Tcl, Tk)
Experience with bug tracking tools
Experience in test case management tools
Excellent communication skills

• Working Knowledge of L2 protocols- (STP/MSTP/RSTP, 802.1q/ad/aq, 802.3ah, 802.1ag/Y.1731 (Ethernet OAM/CFM))

• Working Knowledge of Layer-3 Protocols - IPv4/IPv6, OSPFv2/v3, IS-IS, BGP4, IGMP, PIM-SM/SSM

• Exposure to VxLAN, L2VPN (Pseudowire, VPLS) and L3VPN (BGP/MPLS VPN) technologies

• Strong Knowledge of product verification methodologies and strategies.

• Experience in performance and throughput testing
