Job Description

As a Developer Evangelist, you’ll be the voice of our developer product—crafting clear, compelling technical documentation, and nurturing our GitHub community. You'll help developers get started confidently, showcase sample code, and gather community feedback to influence product improvements. This role is perfect for someone early in their career who combines coding skills with strong writing, community awareness, and a passion for improving developer journeys. You'll maintain docs and GitHub, engage actively with developers, and relay valuable feedback into product improvements.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with video production or GIF screencasts for tutorials/workshops
  • Experience in working with embedded devices
  • Experience in web development (HTML/CSS/Javascript)
  • Experience with automation CI/CD (Jenkins, Github Actions)
  • Familiarity with developer forums and social platforms (Discord, Youtube)
  • Familiarity with static site generators (Docusaurus, Hugo, Sphinx) or doc-as-code tools
  • Prior participation in organizing hackathons, open-source events, or community meetups
Must Have:
  • Write and maintain tutorials, README guides, code samples, and API docs
  • Improve developer onboarding experience through better code examples and clear instructions
  • Monitor and update docs in response to new features or community pain points
  • Manage GitHub repositories: track issues, respond to PRs, and maintain community engagement
  • Curate sample apps and starter repositories to showcase best practices
  • Foster GitHub discussions, escalate developer feedback and observability needs to product teams
  • Create blog posts, short demos or videos introducing docs or sample code
  • Participate in online forums (Stack Overflow, Discord, Reddit) to help developers and gather feedback
  • Present internal “office hours” or light webinars to showcase docs and code examples
  • Work closely with engineering and product teams to stay current with roadmap
  • Translate features into documentation

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • 4 years of professional software development experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to fellow developers
  • Proficiency in one or more languages (Python, C++, Go)
  • Experience using git repositories & Github
  • Demonstrated passion for developer experience

Key Responsibilities:

Documentation & Content:

  • Write and maintain tutorials, README guides, code samples, and API docs.
  • Improve developer onboarding experience through better code examples and clear instructions.

GitHub & Community:

  • Manage GitHub repositories: track issues, respond to PRs, and maintain community engagement.

  • Create blog posts, short demos or videos introducing docs or sample code.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with engineering and product teams to stay current with roadmap and translate features into documentation.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Computer Science major.
  • 4 years of professional software development experience, with at least some focus on documentation or developer tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication—ability to explain technical concepts clearly to fellow developers with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in one or more languages (e.g. Python, C++, Go).
  • Experience using git repositories & Github: issuing PRs, version control, managing issues, working across repos.
  • Demonstrated passion for developer experience (e.g. personal blog, technical YouTube channel, open‑source contributions).

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with video production or GIF screencasts for tutorials/workshops.
  • Experience in working with embedded devices.
  • Experience in web development (e.g. HTML/CSS/Javascript) and automation CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins, Github Actions).

The annual salary for this position ranges from $160000 to $215300. The actual annual salary paid for this position will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skills, prior experiences, qualifications, expertise, work location, total target compensation, training, company needs, and current market demands. The annual salary range for this position is subject to change and may be adjusted in the future.
