The Strategic Accounts Manager for Large and National Genomics Initiatives (LNGI) in South Korea is responsible for actively engaging and interacting with government-funded genomics initiatives aimed at integrating genomics into healthcare on a national or large scale. Reporting to the Lead for LNGI AMEA and working cross functionally they will align strategic goals with operational requirements and provide project management by acting as the primary liaison for project review, assessment, and execution, ensuring that initiatives adhere to a unified framework for consistency in delivery.
Must have:
  • Lead strategy for LNGI projects in South Korea, building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Project manage and align strategy and communications for large-scale initiatives and partnerships.
  • Ensure cross-functional deliverables are provided on time to meet operational imperatives.
  • Act as central internal communication point for LNGI projects in South Korea.
  • Leverage internal and global relationships to achieve sales goals for large-scale initiatives.
  • Communicate needs of large-scale initiatives from stakeholders and customers to product marketing and R&D.
  • Develop high-value, long-term profitable customer accounts through relationship building.
  • Develop and maintain multilevel relationships across initiatives, including government engagement.
  • Stratify new initiatives based on volume, market, and potential.
  • Maintain quarterly financial targets, updates, and communication to all stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategy for LNGI projects in South Korea, forming strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization (i.e. business development/market development/product development).
  • Project manage and align strategy and communications to enable large-scale initiatives and assigned partnerships, ensuring Illumina approach these in a consistent and efficient way.
  • Ensure that all cross functional deliverables are provided to the project on time to meet operational imperatives.
  • Act as the central internal communication point for LNGI projects in South Korea, ensuring efficient, effective, and appropriate dissemination of information on all aspects of the business relationship.
  • Leverage internal relationships within the region and globally to reach sales goals for large scale initiatives.
  • Communicate the needs of large-scale initiatives from both internal stakeholders and customers, providing a channel to product marketing and R&D.
  • Develop high-value, long-term profitable customer accounts through relationship building and partnership.
  • Develop and maintain relationships at multilevel across initiatives from lab manager to CEO, including government engagement as required.
  • Stratify new initiatives based on volume, market and potential.
  • Responsible for maintaining on a quarterly cadence, in line with forecasting schedule, financial targets and updates and communication of these updates to all stakeholders.

Position Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding of genomics, bioinformatics, or related disciplines.
  • Experience in managing projects, functions, resources and/or teams.
  • Experience with software for next generation sequencing analysis and demonstrated understanding of commonly used informatics tools and programs
  • Experience in forming deep customer relationships with a demonstrated superior problem solving and interpersonal skills in a customer facing environment.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication and training skills.

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
  • Experience in a direct sales role desirable but not essential.
