Job Description

CAE is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist for Indirect Product Technology. This role requires a consistent, reliable, and customer-experience-driven individual passionate about process improvement and acting as a change agent. The specialist will act as a GPSM Advisor, co-draft and execute category strategies, and lead the global technology sourcing strategy. Key responsibilities include building complex analysis models, staying updated on industry trends, and coaching junior team members. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, with a focus on ethics and inclusion.
Must have:
  • Act as a GPSM Advisor to the business.
  • Demonstrate a strategic business mindset, establish an executive-level presence, and balance multiple stakeholder interests simultaneously.
  • Co-draft and execute category strategies while unlocking potential cross-category synergies.
  • Establish/Maintain a multi-year pipeline of opportunities across in-scope categories and functions.
  • Lead execution of a global technology sourcing strategy for assigned categories.
  • Build and maintain complex analysis models for data-driven decisions.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends that impact the technology sourcing strategy.
  • Participate and enforce improvement initiatives and coach junior team members.

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes

· Act as a GPSM Advisor to the business.

· Demonstrate a strategic business mindset, establish an executive-level presence, and balance multiple stakeholder interests simultaneously.

· Co-draft and execute category strategies while unlocking potential cross-category synergies. Establish/Maintain a multi-year pipeline of opportunities across in-scope categories and functions

· Lead execution, through a collaborative and inclusive approach, of a global technology sourcing strategy for assigned categories that delivers against corporate Product Technology and business strategy priorities.

· Build and maintain complex analysis models to enable data-driven decisions on complex sourcing projects.

· Keep abreast of industry trends that impact the technology sourcing strategy through external advisory services, internal resources, and good working relationships with existing and emerging strategic vendors.

· Participate and enforce improvement initiatives and coach junior team members.

· Excellent Customer service skills, when dealing with the company team members at all levels of the organization. Will also work with the company’s suppliers and will be required to negotiate while working in a spirit of partnership by utilizing the skills of persuasion and influence.

Our Ideal Candidate Has

· Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, law, or any other relevant discipline.

· At least 7 years of relevant experience in Product Technology Procurement.

· Experience in negotiation and in leading vendor selection processes.
