About This Role

Job Profile: Candidates will be required to assemble and solder printed circuit boards, install, fix, align and adjust components, operate automatic and semi-automatic machines, clean, seal and mark components according to the conditions, criteria and precision required for the position.

Skills: Candidates must demonstrate the following skills:

• Read and interpret drawings, schematics and diagrams of electromechanical and printed circuit board assemblies.
• Knowledge of electronic components to identify component values and polarity during assembly.
• Knowledge of conformal coating application methods, curing and air-drying times and temperatures, and part humidity level.
• Properly use manual and pneumatic tools.
• Adjust wave machine speed and operate automatic and semi-automatic machines.
• Perform repairs and modifications on circuit boards.
• Possess good dexterity for assembling and soldering electronic components and good vision for delicate tasks.
• Knowledge of precision standards (IPC 610D).
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety rules, including WHMIS.

Practical experience: A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years in printed circuit board assembly is essential and a minimum experience in surface mount assembly is an asset.

Academic and professional qualifications: D.E.P. in cable and circuit assembly. Any other combination equivalent to the required qualifications will be considered. Selection: Candidates will be selected based on their seniority, provided they are willing, meet the requirements of the posting and are able to perform the work satisfactorily in relation to the requirements of the position. Candidates must be union members. A functional knowledge of French is required
