Job Description

The Systems Engineer (L2) provides expert advice, troubleshooting, and solutions for the enterprise, adhering to customer service standards. This role primarily monitors the ticketing system, handles customer requests for on/offboarding, usage, and standards in production. Key responsibilities include system administration, resolving hardware and software technical problems related to Product infrastructure and operations, and enhancing customer experience. The engineer may also lead, create, or update support procedures and direct the work of others.
Must have:
  • Monitor ticketing system for on/offboarding, usage, and standards in production.
  • Monitor systems health to avoid or minimize disruption.
  • Maintain virtual and physical IT inventory, network systems, and repair devices.
  • Provide first level support to internal and external customers.
  • Acquire, maintain, and document knowledge of existing and new systems.
  • Responsible for 24-hour operational support and on-call rotation.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in English (verbal, typed, written).
Good to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer sciences or related field
  • 2-5 years’ experience in technical operations

Systems Engineer (L2), Product Team

The Systems Engineer position provides expert advice for the enterprise by troubleshooting problems, finding solutions or escalating as appropriate while following our customer service standards. This role has primary responsibility to monitor the ticketing system and carry out customer requests pertaining to on/offboarding, usage, and standards, in production. Additionally, the Systems Engineer has key responsibility for system administration, resolving hardware and software technical problems and malfunctions related to the Product infrastructure and operations, as well as customer experience.. May lead, create new or update existing support procedures as well as direct the work of others.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the ticketing system and carry out customer requests pertaining to on/offboarding, usage, and standards, in production
  • Monitors systems health, reacting appropriately to ensure disruption is avoided or minimized
  • Monitor and maintain virtual and physical IT inventory; interconnect infrastructure, network systems and components, system administration and repairing failed devices
  • Provides first level support to internal and external customers with a high degree of customer service, quality and expertise by performing a variety of basic tasks
  • Acquires, maintains and documents knowledge of existing systems and new systems to provide technically accurate assistance by keeping informed of the most recent trends and technologies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer sciences, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in technical operations and/or an equivalent combination of training preferred.
  • Experience with systems engineering functions: requirements, development, system interfaces, implementation, verification and validation, deployment and system operation
  • A thorough working knowledge of local area networks, server installations, TCP/IP, routers, switches and WAN concepts preferred
  • Familiarity with storage and SAN technologies; file, object and block
  • Clear understanding of virtualization technology and practices
  • Clear understanding of database methodology, preference in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Exposure to a variety of computing/storage platforms, including AHV (Nutanix), VMware, Scality, Cisco UCS Servers, Nimble/Alletra Storage, MSA Storage, and Azure
  • Knowledge and experience with operating systems including Linux and Microsoft Server
  • Product knowledge of Nutanix, VMware, Backup & Recovery Practices, Active Directory, System Monitoring, Firewall Concepts, Operating System/Firmware Patching Practices
  • Responsible for 24-hour operational support and on call rotation or emergency coverage
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally, typed and written
