Job Description

PlayStation is seeking a Technical Account Manager II to enhance the experience of game development partners on PlayStation platforms. This role involves representing PlayStation's technical aspects, advocating for partners, and influencing game development decisions. The manager will lead partner relationships, collaborate globally with engineering and business teams, proactively identify project risks, and build long-term technical relationships. Key responsibilities include maintaining ownership of accounts, resolving issues, collecting partner feedback, promoting best practices, and providing onsite support and training. The ideal candidate will have engineering experience with game SDKs, understanding of development pipelines, excellent communication, and proficiency in English and Korean or Japanese.

  • Technical knowledge of the PlayStation platform.
  • Direct console game development experience, contributed to a console title launch.
  • Familiar with working with a globally distributed group.
  • Experience working with external partners.
Must Have:
  • Lead partner relationships and collaborate with other groups globally.
  • Bridge technical and business aspects by partnering with GDTG engineers and business account management teams.
  • Meet regularly with assigned accounts to proactively identify project risks, support needs, and opportunities.
  • Build long-term collaborative relationships with technical decision-makers and influencers.
  • Maintain strong ownership of accounts and titles, prioritizing and ensuring resolution of all issues.
  • Collect partner feedback and champion it within PlayStation.
  • Recommend and promote standard methodologies to licensed partners.
  • Provide onsite support and training.
  • Contribute to training events, postmortems, and advisory panels.
  • Engineering experience with hands-on exposure to game SDKs and ability to understand their content.
  • Understanding of general development pipelines for games.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with development tools and ability to quickly familiarize with new deeply technical projects.
  • Ability to operate with little to no supervision at partner sites, providing professional service.
  • Willingness to travel and coordinate with technical expertise in other groups to solve issues.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in the industry.
  • Proficiency in English and Korean or Japanese languages.

Technical Account Manager

PlayStation has an exciting career opportunity. We seek a Technical Account Manager II to ensure that our game development partners have the best possible experience while developing on PlayStation platforms.

Represent technical aspects of PlayStation, advocate for partners, and influence game development decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead partner relationships and collaborate with other groups around the world to build consistency in our approach to service.
  • Bridge the technical and business aspects of development by partnering internally with our Global Developer Technology Group (GDTG) engineers and business account management teams.
  • Meet regularly with your assigned accounts/partners to proactively identify project risks, support needs, and opportunities.
  • Build long-term collaborative relationships with technical decision-makers and influencers.
  • Maintain strong ownership of the accounts & titles you work on, prioritizing and helping to ensure resolution of all issues as they arise.
  • Collect partner feedback and champion that within PlayStation.
  • Recommend and promote standard methodologies to licensed partners.
  • Provide onsite support and training.
  • Contribute to training events, postmortems, and advisory panels.

Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

  • Engineering experience with hands-on exposure to game SDKs and ability to understand their content.
  • Understanding of general development pipelines for games.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with an eye toward providing excellent customer support.
  • Familiarity with development tools and ability to quickly familiarize with new deeply technical projects in development.
  • The ability to operate with little to no supervision at partner sites, providing a professional and useful service to our partners.
  • Willing to travel and coordinate with leverage technical expertise in other groups to tackle issues at hand. When not able to directly or efficiently tackle partner problems, identify technical expertise needed to tackle the problems.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in the industry.
  • Proficiency in English and Korean or Japanese languages.

Preferred:

  • Technical knowledge of the PlayStation platform.
  • Direct console game development experience, i.e., contributed to the launch of a console title in a technical capacity.
  • Familiar with working with a globally distributed group.
  • English language skills are a plus.
  • Experience working with external partners.
