Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager III at Google's Google Home Platform, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary software development projects from initiation to completion. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to define program goals and prioritized deliverables, developing and executing project plans, monitoring key metrics, identifying and addressing deviations, and communicating effectively with cross-functional teams. You'll manage projects of varying sizes and scopes, identify future opportunities, improve processes, and influence the technical direction of programs. You will work with various programming languages and influence teams responsible for design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and improvement of software. The role requires strong communication skills to explain analyses and recommendations to executives and discuss technical trade-offs with developers. The position is located in Waterloo, ON, Canada.

You will lead software development projects in one of our core programming languages. You will also influence teams that design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software. In addition, you will plan requirements, identify risks, manage schedules, and communicate clearly with project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand or identify defined work problems and program goals, obtain prioritized deliverables, and discuss program impact.
  • Prioritize program goals, understand and translate other stakeholders’ needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables with minimal assistance, and contribute to decisions on prioritizing goals and deliverables.
  • Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, or manage project plans for supported programs.
  • Review key metrics pertaining to a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations.
  • Identify, communicate, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders within one or more teams to drive impact and work toward mutual goals.
