Sandbox VR is the most advanced virtual reality experience in the world, aiming to bring people closer through immersive experiences. Since 2017, they have become the location-based VR industry leader and are expanding globally. They are seeking a Technical Project Manager to support the Director of Project Management. This role involves driving projects such as new store openings, existing store maintenance, and internal IT initiatives, utilizing industry best practices in project management. The individual will be proficient in agile/scrum and traditional waterfall models, collaborating with internal business partners, technical resources, and external vendors to ensure project objectives are met.
Must have:
  • Oversee product testing, deployment, and release management.
  • Maintain the product testing environment.
  • Manage and execute software and hardware deployments.
  • Develop clear, comprehensive documentation.
  • Act as a liaison between Store & Operations Team and Deployment Team.
  • Track and manage issues, working with the development team.

We are looking for a technical project manager to support the Director of Project Management by driving projects including managing new store openings, existing store maintenance, and internal IT initiatives utilising industry best practices in project management. This individual will be proficient in agile/scrum as well as traditional waterfall models. The technical project manager will collaborate with internal business partners, technical resources, and external vendors to ensure projects are defined and all objectives are delivered.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with the Director of Project Management to oversee product testing, deployment, and release management, ensuring all rollouts meet the highest quality standards.
  • Maintain the product testing environment, including equipment and devices, to enable thorough, efficient, and timely testing.
  • Manage and execute software and hardware deployments across all store locations, collaborating closely with store teams and the development team for smooth system updates.
  • Develop clear, comprehensive documentation, including business and operational requirements, process flow diagrams, user manuals, training materials, deployment guides, and troubleshooting resources.
  • Act as a liaison between the Store & Operations Team and the Deployment Team to identify gaps, address misalignments, and improve coordination.
  • Track and manage issues, working with the development team to identify solutions that enhance overall product reliability.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT project management.
  • Proven hands-on experience in both project execution and technical tasks.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets; experience with Jira or other project management tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • A proactive “can-do” mindset and ideally, a “can-do-even-better” approach to continuous improvement.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple time zones as needed.
  • Fluency in English, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Cantonese is an asset; native proficiency is a strong plus.
