Just Won't Die is looking for a Technical Quality Assurance Tester to work on a new AAA FPS game for console, PC, and mobile. The role involves playing a key role in the development process, collaborating with various teams, and reporting issues clearly. Responsibilities include testing features, reporting issues through Jira, and keeping production informed. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with strong attention to detail, a logical approach to problem-solving, and a passion for games and QA. The role is currently remote, but based in Cambridge, UK. The candidate should be eligible to work in the United Kingdom and the role is office based in Cambridge.
Good To Have:
  • Experience working on First Person Shooter games
  • Experience with destructive testing methodology and practices
  • Knowledge of JIRA and other testing tools
  • A keen gamer with industry knowledge
  • Experience managing small teams
  • Game development experience
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4
Must Have:

Job Description

Want to work with an awesome team on an exciting next gen AAA FPS?

Even in these uncertain times, the awesome talent at Just Won’t Die Games Studio is expanding! We’re looking for a highly-skilled, driven and technically-minded QA Tester to work on an exciting new and original IP for console, PC and mobile. You’ll play a fundamental role in our development process, working closely with art, design and programming teams to play test, destructively test and report issues clearly and accurately.

We need someone who’s a self-starter, capable of the technical elements of the role - the position requires strong attention to detail with a proven logical and methodical approach to problem-solving and testing.

The ideal candidate would have good industry knowledge and a passion for game testing across various platforms. The position is in-house based in Cambridge, UK, but for the moment (at least) the whole team is working remotely.

Skills and Experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Testing features, systems, feature sets and test cases

  • Identifying, isolating and reproducing issues following the company’s processes & procedures.

  • Reporting identified issues through Jira concisely and accurately.

  • Delegating issues to relevant individuals and disciplines.

  • Keeping production informed on build status and stability.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Inquisitive and technically minded.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-changing environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Proactive and self-motivated attitude.

  • Proven logical and methodical approach to problem-solving.
