Intrepid Studios, creator of Ashes of Creation, is currently looking for a highly talented Test Coordinator. The Test Coordinator for Play Testing will be responsible for coordinating and managing the testing activities focused on specific in game locations or scenarios (play spots) within our MMO. This role involves working closely with QA testers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure thorough testing and high-quality standards across designated areas of the game.

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Play Spot Testing Activities:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive play spot testing schedule.
  • Assign testing tasks to QA testers based on priority and availability.
  • Monitor progress and ensure timely completion of testing milestones.

Test Planning and Execution:

  • Collaborate with the Director of QA & DevOps and Senior Test Manager to define testing strategies and objectives for play spots.
  • Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for assigned play spots.
  • Execute tests and oversee the execution of tests by QA testers, ensuring thorough coverage and accurate reporting of issues.

Issue Tracking and Reporting:

  • Identify, document, and prioritize bugs and issues found during play spot testing.
  • Work closely with developers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of test results, bug reports, and testing activities.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for play testing related queries and concerns.
  • Facilitate regular meetings and status updates with the QA team and other stakeholders.
  • Provide clear and concise reports on testing progress, issues, and risks to the stake holders and project leads.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyze testing processes and methodologies to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of play spot testing.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in QA and testing techniques.



Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in QA/testing, preferably in the gaming industry.
  • Experience with MMO games and a strong understanding of their unique testing requirements.
  • Stakeholder management, and cross studio coordination and organization
  • Experience also with large scale play testing coordination and execution
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing.
  • Proficiency in bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of MMO gameplay mechanics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
  • Community background in gaming.

The Legal Bits:

We offer competitive pay based on market standards plus a significant annual bonus structure. The base salary for this role is between $66,000 - $92,400, depending on skills and experience. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall throughout the range based on these factors.
