AeroVect is seeking Autonomous Vehicle Operators for its Atlanta team. This role involves operating autonomous airport tractors at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, moving live cargo across the airfield. Operators will supervise vehicles to enhance performance and safety, working closely with the engineering team to provide feedback and ensure safe vehicle behavior. This is a hands-on opportunity within a fast-paced, innovative autonomous vehicle environment.
Must have:
  • Experience operating in Airside Environments
  • Experience handling specialty vehicle types in complex environments
  • Valid US Class C Driver's License with 3+ years of driving experience and clean record
  • Experience in a lead or sole-supervisor role
  • Reliable, detailed-oriented individual with strong communication skills
  • Alertness and good driving instinct to monitor autonomous vehicle performance
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
  • Ability to pass federal background checks and maintain airport security badge
Good to have:
  • Experience operating an autonomous vehicle or overseeing autonomous machinery operations
  • Experience with safety-critical infrastructure
  • Basic computer programming skills (ROS experience is a plus)
  • Interest in autonomous driving and aviation
  • Test driving experience
  • Familiarity with the layout and cargo operations of ATL

Job Description:

We are looking for Autonomous Vehicle Operators to join AeroVect’s Atlanta-based team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating our autonomous airport tractors at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport as they move live cargo across the airfield. Your supervision of the vehicles will improve the performance and safety of our technology.

You will work side-by-side with our engineering team, providing crucial feedback on vehicle performance and ensuring safe vehicle behavior. As part of the AeroVect team, you’ll have the chance to get hands-on with Autonomous vehicles in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Attention to detail, professionalism, care, and personal accountability – combined with a deep passion for safety – are key attributes required for the position.

What You’ll Do:

  • Operate AeroVect's autonomous vehicles at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
  • Log vehicle behavior, performance, observations, and key metrics
  • Supervise autonomous baggage tugs while in operation, and manually drive them to and from their storage depot
  • Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections of the vehicles and their hardware systems
  • Work with the engineering team to trial and test new vehicle features
  • Interface with those interacting with the vehicle on the route, as cargo and baggage are loaded for the vehicle to transport
  • Lend your expertise to the improvement of vehicle performance and handling of complex driving scenarios

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience operating in Airside Environments
  • Experience handling specialty vehicle types in complex environments
  • A valid US Class C Driver's License, with 3+ years of driving experience with a clean driving record
  • Experience in a lead or sole-supervisor role, demonstrating superior responsibility
  • Being a reliable, detailed-oriented individual with strong communication skills
  • Alertness and good driving instinct to monitor autonomous vehicle performance
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends
  • Must be able to pass federal background checks and receive and maintain issuance of an airport security badge

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating an autonomous vehicle, or overseeing operations of autonomous machinery
  • Experience with safety-critical infrastructure
  • Basic computer programming skills. ROS experience is a plus.
  • Interest in autonomous driving and aviation
  • Test driving experience
  • Familiarity with the layout and cargo operations of ATL
