Philips is seeking a skilled and proactive Test Environment Engineer iXR to develop, update, and maintain software tools while overseeing the IT infrastructure and environment supporting testing operations. This role involves optimizing testing processes, diagnosing and resolving issues, championing new technologies, and managing procurement for the test environment. This position requires a strong understanding of software development, automation, and IT environment management to ensure a stable, efficient, and secure test environment.
Must have:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience within Test Environment operations.
  • Proven track record in managing databases and software tools.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining and managing test lab environments.

Job Details

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Test Environment (Tools) Engineer to develop, update, and maintain software tools while overseeing the IT infrastructure and environment supporting our testing operations. This role demands a strong understanding of software development, automation, and IT environment management to ensure a stable, efficient, and secure test environment.

Your role :

  • Develop, maintain, and update custom software & hardware tools to support testing and development teams.
  • Manage and configure the IT infrastructure of the Test Environment, ensuring availability, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with IT and Development teams to optimize testing processes through tool enhancements and environment management.
  • Proactively diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and environment-related challenges to minimize downtime and maintain operational excellence.
  • Champion the adoption of cutting-edge technologies to elevate test environment automation, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Manage procurement and logistics of critical materials essential to the Test Environment’s functionality and operational readiness.
  • Drive team performance by supporting the Test Environment (TE) team in consistently achieving project milestones and organizational goals.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Administer and maintain test lab facilities, ensuring all equipment is calibrated, compliant, and operating at optimal standards.
  • Execute additional strategic initiatives and cross-functional tasks to support broader company objectives and growth

You're the right fit if:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline—or equivalent professional experience demonstrating expertise in the field.
  • A minimum 2 years of experience working within Test Environment operations, coupled with a strong affinity for emerging IT technologies and innovation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact at the department counter, engaging professionally and courteously with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and a polished, professional demeanor, representing the department as its key ambassador.
  • Demonstrate confidence and approachability, ensuring a positive first impression and seamless communication with visitors and team members alike.
  • Proven track record in managing databases and software tools critical to testing and development processes.
  • Initiated and led monthly process reviews that identified efficiency improvements, contributing to an increase in team productivity.
  • Facilitated weekly cross-departmental meetings involving stakeholders, achieving consensus on project milestones and accelerating timelines
  • Resolved high-priority operational issues within 24 hours in 90% of cases by applying root-cause analysis and coordinating with cross-functional teams during critical project phases.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining and managing test lab environments, ensuring all equipment meets operational, safety, and compliance standards.

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.

Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
