Job Description

Atomic Theory, part of Rocket Science Group, is seeking a passionate Tools Engineer to build high-quality developer workflows in Unreal, Unity, or proprietary engines. The role focuses on enhancing efficiency and creating innovative game experiences. This engineer will collaborate with technical and non-technical teams, balancing feedback and constraints to make impactful changes. Ideal candidates have experience developing customer-facing applications and workflows that empower others to create high-quality game experiences. Atomic Theory is a multinational team of AAA veterans committed to performance and meticulous engineering tools.
Must have:
  • Build high quality developer workflows in Unreal, Unity, or proprietary engines
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical developers to improve tools and workflow
  • Balance direct requests, feedback, strategy, and technical constraints for impactful changes
  • Experience building customer-facing applications and workflows for game experiences
Good to have:
  • Proficiency using WPF
  • Experience leading the implementation of an impactful tool or workflow for developers
  • Experience analyzing data to create workflow and tools recommendations
  • Experience working with DCC extensions, plugins or scripts
  • Experience developing for current-generation consoles (e.g., Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5)
  • Previous experience coaching, teaching or mentoring less experienced engineers
  • Previous experience working with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback, provide support, and problem solve

Job Details

Please note that this is a hybrid position with a mixture of in-office and home-based working.

About the Role

Atomic Theory is seeking a talented and passionate engineer motivated by building high quality developer workflows whether that be in Unreal, Unity, or a proprietary engine. It’s all about the efficiency and the ability to create innovative experiences that delight gamers around the globe.

Collaborating with technical and non-technical developers is key to making the greatest improvements to tools and workflow. Balancing direct requests, feedback, strategy and technical constraints to make impactful changes is critical to success.

Our ideal candidates will have experience building customer-facing applications and workflows that enable others to develop high quality game experiences.

What We Value:

  • Strong Technical Skills: Proficiency in C++ or C# and strong math skills. Experience with MVVM and similar design patterns common to application development.
  • Engineering Excellence: A commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code, with a focus on quality and best practices.
  • Team Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

What You May Also Have:

  • Technical Experience:
  • Proficiency using WPF.
  • Experience leading the implementation of an impactful tool or workflow for developers.
  • Experience analyzing data to create workflow and tools recommendations.
  • Experience working with DCC extensions, plugins or scripts.
  • Console Experience: Experience developing for current-generation consoles (e.g., Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5) is a plus.
  • Mentorship Skills: Previous experience coaching, teaching or mentoring less experienced engineers to learn new technical skills.
  • Communication Skills: Previous experience working with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback, provide support, and problem solve.
