Responsibilities include co-development project leadership, fostering innovation, market analysis, cross-department collaboration, budget oversight, stakeholder communication, quality assurance, and driving excellence in AAA and mobile game development. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a work-for-hire studio and a proven track record of managing end-to-end game development.

Job Overview

Globalstep is seeking an exceptional Vice President of Product Development to lead our game development practice. This pivotal leadership role will define the strategic vision and ensure the operational success of our game design, software engineering, and art production teams, driving the delivery of high-quality, client-focused projects. You will collaborate with senior leadership to partner with top-tier gaming industry clients, delivering innovative, cutting-edge solutions that elevate AAA and mobile game development. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience from a work-for-hire studio, a proven track record of managing end-to-end game development, and a passion for exceeding.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Oversee Globalstep’s global game development operations, managing teams across the US, Europe, and Asia in game design, software engineering, and art production.
  • Align teams with company goals and develop product strategies to drive growth and innovation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to secure high-value clients, optimize project portfolios, and ensure operational and financial success.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients, delivering tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Work closely with leadership to secure and nurture high-value clients, ensuring long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate with game studios, publishers, and clients to deliver high-quality games and services.

Team Leadership:

  • Inspire and mentor diverse, cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of high performance, creativity, and collaboration.
  • Ensure exceptional project delivery by creating an environment of continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives.

Project Management & Co-Development:

  • Manage the entire game development lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring co-development processes are seamless, timely, and budget-conscious.
  • Lead specialized co-development projects, ensuring all deliverables meet client objectives, creative direction, and quality standards.
  • Guide feature development and facilitate decision-making to align with business and creative goals.

Innovation & Market Insight:

  • Foster a culture of innovation by staying ahead of emerging gaming technologies and trends.
  • Regularly assess industry developments, competitor products, and market demands to guide strategic decisions.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, promoting Globalstep’s capabilities to clients, partners, and stakeholders.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and customer support teams to ensure smooth product launches and consistent messaging.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to foster collaboration and drive successful project outcomes.

Budget & Resource Oversight:

  • Oversee project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure the efficient use of resources while maintaining high standards of quality.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Provide regular updates to the executive team and key stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and successes, enabling swift decision-making and alignment with company goals.

Quality & Feature Development:

  • Ensure the development of game features aligns with creative visions and meets the highest quality standards.
  • Address blockers promptly to maintain project momentum.

Excellence in AAA & Mobile Game Development:

  • Champion excellence in AAA and mobile game development across global studios, including live service operations.
  • Leverage advanced technologies to maintain a competitive edge and deliver exceptional games.

Process Improvement & KPIs:

  • Refine development processes, tools, and KPIs to enhance efficiency, quality, and innovation.
  • Foster a gamer-centric culture that encourages exploration of cutting-edge ideas and positions Globalstep as an industry leader.
