Job Description

Synechron is seeking a skilled Production Assurance and Development Engineer responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of applications through effective incident management, maintenance, and development processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams. This role involves leading development, enhancement, and maintenance within the VisionPLUS ecosystem, providing expert-level production support, and serving as a subject matter expert in VisionPLUS core subsystems.
Must have:
  • Lead and execute development, enhancement, and maintenance tasks within the VisionPLUS ecosystem, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Provide expert-level support for production issues, including root cause analysis and resolution within SLA timelines.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in one or more VisionPLUS core subsystems such as CMS, FAS, or VMx.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement subsystem-specific solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Develop and troubleshoot applications using COBOL, JCL, and CICS in a mainframe environment.
  • Utilize tools such as Control-M for job scheduling, Xpeditor for debugging, and CA-Tools for performance monitoring and code management.
  • Manage and monitor batch cycles, ensuring timely and accurate processing of card transactions.
  • Provide Business-As-Usual (BAU) support, including incident management, change requests, and performance tuning.
  • Apply a strong understanding of end-to-end card processing workflows to support business operations and resolve complex issues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and security protocols in card transaction processing.
  • Maintain a high-level understanding of all VisionPLUS subsystems to support integration efforts and system-wide impact analysis.
  • Participate in system design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
  • 10+ years hands on Technical experience in VisionPLUS development or support.
  • Expertise in one of the core VisionPlus subsystems - CMS, FAS, VMx.
  • Strong expertise in CICS, JCL and Cobol.
  • Hands on experience in Control-M, Xpeditor, CA-Tools.
  • Good understanding end to end cards processing.
  • High-level Understanding of all the VisionPlus subsystems.
  • Experience with BAU Support and Batch support.

Our challenge

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Coral Springs, FL is $110k - $120k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role
