The Visual Content Developer designs and builds immersive, high-fidelity visual environments for simulation products. This role requires experience in 3D visual content or gaming environments, applying problem-solving skills creatively to expand existing visual simulation products. Responsibilities include using CAE software and geospatial tools to create and modify visual database components, maintaining records, overseeing asset integration, and developing realistic flight scenes for optimal simulation performance.
Must have:
  • Design and build immersive, high-fidelity visual environments for simulation products.
  • Experience in 3D visual content or gaming environments.
  • Apply problem-solving skills in creative ways to expand existing visual simulation products.
  • Use CAE software and geospatial tools to create and modify visual database components from satellite imagery, vector data and elevation models.
  • Maintain detailed records of produced content and prepare technical documentation.
  • Oversee the integration of visual assets into simulation platforms across sites, support customer testing and propose process improvements.
  • Develop realistic flight scenes, animated objects, photo-texturing and visual details for optimal simulation performance.
  • Strong understanding of geospatial and technical data.
  • Proficiency in 3D design and simulation software.
  • Degree or equivalent technical certification in 3D design, animation, engineering OR related experience.
  • Eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance.
Good to have:
  • Experience with game engines, in particular Unreal Engine, Unity.

About This Role

The role we are offering you

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Strong understanding of geospatial and technical data
  • Proficiency in 3D design and simulation software
  • Experience with game engines is ideal – in particular Unreal Engine, Unity.
  • Degree or equivalent technical certification in 3D design, animation, engineering OR related experience

Security requirements

As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
