The Manager, Marketing at Square Enix supports strategic planning and execution of marketing initiatives for Western game releases. Responsibilities include defining game value propositions, identifying publishing objectives, developing target audiences, conducting user testing, and optimizing partnerships.  This role requires strong strategic thinking, cross-functional leadership, and collaboration with developers, regional teams, and sales to ensure successful product launches.  The Manager will also define 1P partnership strategies, manage budgets, and create core game pillars like player promise and key features. Responsibilities span from upstream definition of the title’s strategic levers and game value proposition, to developing target audiences, conducting user testing, and delivering strategic guidance to optimize partnerships and support success downstream. The Manager, Marketing demonstrates strong strategic thinking and a deep capability to lead initiatives across functions.</p><p></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul> <li>Work with Developers to understand each game’s unique value proposition.</li> <li>Support identification of publishing objectives for the game, articulate strategic business objectives, and allocate Square Enix West budget appropriately based on forecast.</li> <li>Support the definition of in-game telemetry strategy and requirements to maximize SQEX’s ability to capture detailed data that can be used to drive future marketing performance.</li> <li>Support Publishing Lead, Marketing Director and Regional Sales to deliver a full SKU plan aligning with the project strategy.</li> <li>Refine target audiences and develop the brand pyramid of foundational strategy components to support effective Go-To-Market (GTM) that will be executed by the Regional Teams.</li> <li>Support the development of a demo strategy, key requirements, and a SKU plan, including pre-ordering mechanics and digital content offerings.</li> <li>Review creative asset plans with developers and collaborate with Creative teams to develop a core asset toolkit &amp; visual ID/style guide.</li> <li>Support a kickoff within Publishing West organization to align all functional teams on strategy.</li> <li>Define 1P partnership strategy to optimize reach, engagement, and conversion.</li> <li>Coordinate with Sales and Business Planning teams to validate Sales Forecast at each production milestone to allow for informed decision-making.</li> <li>In conjunction with the Publishing Strategy team partner with development teams to create core game pillars such as player promise, key features, and reasons to believe.</li> <li>Conduct a Strategy handoff to Regional Marketing and Communications teams for seamless project transitions and remain engaged with Regional teams to communicate key project updates throughout the project cycle.</li> <li>Be the advocate and knowledge base for assigned games, play and assess these games through development stages.
