The Assistant German-speaking Community Manager will support the ongoing development of FINAL FANTASY XIV online through social channels and community team initiatives. They will assist in creating and analyzing the success of community campaigns. The candidate will work as a German representative within the Online Community team, helping with the day-to-day running of community programs and social channels. The role includes assisting with social media, translation, feedback compilation, asset creation, streaming broadcasts, and event planning. The candidate should possess strong creative writing skills, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Must have:
  • Active player of FINAL FANTASY XIV
  • Impeccable English and German language skills

Job Summary:

Square Enix Europe is on the lookout for an Assistant German-speaking Community Manager to provide support to the ongoing nurture of FINAL FANTASY XIV online through key social channels and community team initiatives. You will assist in creating and analysing the success of community campaigns that empower our fans, and more!

The successful candidate will work within the Online Community team as a key German representative to assist in the day-to-day running of community programs and social channels, with desirable experience particularly in entertainment / video games.

The successful candidate will be highly competent in both English and German language skills, both in spoken communication and written grammar, as well as being highly organised and motivated as a team member.

The successful candidate will be open and receptive to feedback teamwide, with a willingness to learn and develop their skills in a fast-paced environment.

Key Deliverables:

  • Assist in actively engaging users via the official German FINAL FANTASY XIV social channel using high standard creative writing skills, whilst supporting with the monitoring of channel growth and making recommendations for exciting initiatives within the team based on developing trends.
  • Assist in translation and proofreading of German texts when required.
  • Assist in making best use of social monitoring tools to evaluate success/failure of communications plans, understand what our users are saying about our products, and keep a regular temperature check on the various elements within the community.
  • Support the team with the staging of marketing and PR activations, across all available channels including website, blogs, social channels, etc.
  • Assist in providing community feedback within the team and provide thoughts on any initiatives based on a clear and complete understanding of where user passions lie.
  • Assist in relaying and compiling feedback and bug reports for the development teams in Japan to ensure a quick community feedback loop and user satisfaction.
  • Directly assist with the creation of assets (image or video) for use on all available channels to a high standard.
  • Assist in planning, directing, and hosting of streaming broadcasts.
  • Assist in planning and execution of game conventions and fan events.
  • Ad hoc tasks as and when required

Knowledge & Experience:

Essential:

  • Must be an active player of FINAL FANTASY XIV
  • Impeccable language skills in both English and German at a speaking and written level, with strong creative writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a similar role with proven track record of managing impactful social media campaigns, particularly in entertainment / video games.
  • Familiar with social media analytics tools and MS Office applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of the latest industry’s games and trends, as well as social media trends.
  • Good understanding of online communities and online etiquette
  • Team player with a professional attitude and willingness to adapt to feedback and critique. Must be able to keep a level-head with fans through public channels.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, initiative-taker with can do attitude.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to handle multiple projects efficiently while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Creative mindset, out-of-the-box thinker.
  • Able to travel abroad and to work at events.
  • Able to work flexible hours

Desirable:

  • Interest and knowledge of Square Enix titles and online multiplayer games in general.
  • Experience working with Japanese corporations.
  • Ability to use Adobe Photoshop and Premiere to create image and video assets, including being able to comfortably manipulate multi-layered files.
  • Experience and knowledge of streaming technology and editing.
  • Experience in supporting the organization of consumer/fan events.
  • Japanese language skills and/or additional language skills.

We have a hybrid working policy which allows employees to work from the comfort of their home, three days per week, and in our amazing Blackfriars office for the other two.

Or, if being in the Office is your preference, you can choose three days working from our office and two days working from home. The choice is yours!
