Job Description

Hello Games, based in Guildford, UK, seeks a QA Tester with experience across multiple platforms. You'll collaborate with various teams, requiring technical confidence and a player-centric perspective. Responsibilities include meticulous bug finding and reporting, proactive problem-solving, creating and managing test plans, providing insightful feedback, and working effectively with minimal supervision. Experience testing games, excellent communication, familiarity with bug databases, and teamwork are crucial. The role involves working with PCs and consoles.

If you’re a games QA Tester with experience of testing across multiple platforms, we’re looking for someone just like you to join Hello Games, based in Guildford.

You’ll be part of a team of testers who work closely with all disciplines at Hello Games, so we’re looking for good technical confidence. We would also like a tester with a good sense of the players perspective and experience.

Responsibilities

Finding bugs, even the most deeply buried ones, writing them up clearly and reporting them accurately and concisely.
Proactive and good at spotting problems on the horizon and dealing with them before they become an issue.
Create and manage test plans from beginning to end.
Provide insightful player driven feedback.

Qualifications

Lots of proven experience of testing games.
Excellent communication skills.
Familiarity with bug databases and workflows.
The ability to get on with the job with the minimal amount of supervision.
A team player, keen to get involved in a variety of tasks to help out where they can.
Excellent attention to detail.
Experience of working with PCs and consoles.

We’re a video game development studio and publisher based in Guildford and Cambridge in the UK, and are proudly independent. We are the creators of the multi-award winning Joe Danger games, the huge and evolving No Man’s Sky and a recently announced side project The Last Campfire and when we’re not doing that, we’re probably working on something new.

History

We believe that small talented teams can achieve great things. As a team of four in a tiny room above a tile shop, we created the multi million selling Joe Danger. As a dozen developers in a leaking shed, we borrowed our neighbour’s internet and created one of the biggest selling new IPs in video games – No Man’s Sky.

The success of No Man’s Sky has given us a nice office and a whole bunch more freedom to expand creatively. These days we try to join the stability and quality of AAA development with the freedom and creativity of an independent studio. We are excited to bring new games that wouldn’t exist otherwise into the world.
