1D Thermal Simulation Engineer

As the 1D Thermal Simulation Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Develop and refine 1D thermal simulation models using GT-SUITE to support vehicle energy efficiency targets.

• Analyze and optimize thermal control systems, including battery, electric drive units (EDUs), and coolant loops for electric vehicles.

• Simulate a range of thermal management strategies such as thermal storage, radiator configurations, valve actuation, and reverse fan logic.

• Support virtual validation by replicating physical test protocols (e.g., Mira-bot) in simulation environments.

• Minimize reliance on hardware testing by delivering accurate simulation results that accelerate development cycles.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate thermal system insights into broader vehicle development.

Qualifications:

• Proven expertise in GT-SUITE, including model development, calibration, and performance analysis.

• Strong background in automotive thermal management, particularly in electric vehicle systems.

• Solid understanding of thermal systems engineering, including coolant circuits, heat exchangers, and fluid dynamics.

• Familiarity with thermal control concepts such as active valve logic, radiator bypass configurations, and thermal energy recovery.

• Experience validating simulation results against physical test protocols.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or Energy Systems Engineering.

• Prior involvement in automotive or electrification-related projects is preferred.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience. This position can be on-site or done remotely.
