Job Description

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing methods and processes. This role involves interfacing with design engineering, improving manufacturing techniques, and ensuring quality control. Key responsibilities include analyzing data, supporting new product introductions, documenting procedures, and managing capital implementation. The engineer will utilize knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication, and assembly to optimize production. This position requires a Master's degree and 6 months of experience.
Must Have:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing methods and processes.
  • Interface with design engineering for new product releases.
  • Improve manufacturing methods using knowledge of product design and quality standards.
  • Implement and analyze manufacturing engineering plans.
  • Support quality initiatives with Six Sigma methodology.
  • Document procedures, work instructions, and routings.
  • Provide process analysis for new business opportunities and quoting.
  • Monitor and control process parameters, including SPC.
  • Assist with Design to Cost and Design for Manufacturing.
  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 6 months of experience.

Develop, implement and maintain methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Interface with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Maintain records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations. Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Implement and analyze manufacturing engineering plans and projects. Research and analyze data, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application. Support the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle. Support quality initiatives using six sigma methodology to determine extent of non-conformance root cause, and corrective action. Document procedures, process qualifications, work instructions, shop aids, routings, etc. Provide process analysis to support new business (NPI) opportunity assessment and quoting. Define and document equipment calibration requirements. Identify training for production related activities. Monitor and control process parameters and identify special processes and needs for SPC. Forecast and manage manufacturing process capital implementation. Develop floor layouts. Assist product engineer with design to cost and design for manufacturing.
