Haleon, a world-leading consumer healthcare company, is seeking an Engineering Co-Op for a 6-month program starting July 2026 at its East Durham, NY manufacturing site. The Engineering Department focuses on project implementation and facility maintenance, ensuring compliance with EHS and Quality requirements. As an Engineering Intern, you will develop presentation skills, engage in root cause analysis, project management, and troubleshooting. Key contributions include supporting capital and compliance projects, collaborating on safety assessments, assisting with automation system troubleshooting, conducting hazardous area audits, and preparing project documentation.
Must have:
  • Support Capital and Compliance team in executing engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with Process Safety and Machinery Safety Engineers.
  • Partner with Senior Automation Engineer to troubleshoot systems.
  • Conduct audits of hazardous areas.
  • Contribute to engineering concept development.
  • Prepare and deliver project documentation.
  • Pursue a B.S. degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 1 year of post-high school education.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Active student status required.
  • Eligible to work in the US.
  • Eligible to work onsite full-time (40 hours/week).
  • Provide own funding for relocation and commuting.

The Engineering Department at the Haleon Oak Hill site is responsible for implementing projects and maintaining the facility while being compliant with all Environmental Health & Safety Department and Quality compliance requirements. This position will be working at the Haleon manufacturing site in the engineering department located in East Durham, NY.

As an Engineering Intern, you will build presenting skills and work on root cause analysis, project management and troubleshooting.

What will your individual contribution at Haleon be?

  • Support the Capital and Compliance team in executing engineering projects that improve safety, automation, and operational efficiency across the facility.
  • Collaborate with Process Safety and Machinery Safety Engineers to assess equipment and spaces, identify compliance gaps, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with the Senior Automation Engineer to troubleshoot systems and assist in writing and deploying software solutions for manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct audits of hazardous areas and contribute to engineering concept development aimed at reducing exposure to dust and chemicals.
  • Prepare and deliver project documentation, including risk assessments (e.g., FMEAs), reports, and presentations for both standard and ad hoc initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Pursing a B.S. degree in Engineering. Candidate should have a minimum of 1 year of education post high school.
  • Good Computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Must have an active student status
  • Must be eligible to work in the US at the time of, and for the duration of, their employment. Employees will be required to furnish evidence of US work authorization
  • Must be eligible to work onsite on a full-time basis during the internship duration (40 hours/week) and provide their own funding for relocation and commuting.

Rate: $24.50
