Job Description

Streamline is a creative development studio specializing in full video game development, game publishing, interactive digital assets, and metaverse creation. We are seeking a 3D Character Artist with specialization in character production workflow to join our team. The role involves solving a wide range of problems and collaborating with the Lead Artist to meet monthly content pushes and milestones. As a 3D Character Artist, you will deliver high-quality art work efficiently within technical constraints, communicate task status, and proactively manage your time. You will also refine artistic abilities, learn new software, and contribute to a positive team environment. A passion for game development and proficiency in game engine technologies like Unreal are essential.
Must have:
  • Proficiency in 3ds Max/Maya, Substance Painter, Zbrush, Photoshop
  • Experience with PBR workflow
  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine character setup and rendering
  • Experience with game art asset pipeline (highpoly, lowpoly, texturing, baking)
  • Passion for game development
  • Clear and thorough communication skills
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with Blender
  • Familiarity with other game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity)
  • Proficiency in Human Anatomy
  • Proficiency in Creature Anatomy
  • Proficiency in Hard Surface Modeling
  • Proficiency in Cloth Sculpting or Simulation
  • Capable of working in other art disciplines

Description

As a 3D Character Artist, you will need to solve a wide range of problems with well-rounded experience across multiple disciplines, with specialization in Character production workflow.

You thrive on collaboration and report to the Lead Artist to work as a team towards the monthly content pushes and milestones. You have a natural curiosity for all parts of the creative pipeline, and invest time improving your skills.


Responsibilities

  • Delivering excellence
    • Works efficiently and effectively within the technical constraints of production
    • Generates high-quality art work that matches or exceeds studio standards
  • Communication
    • Keep the Lead Artist up to date regarding status of tasks at all times
    • Obtain the Lead Artists guidance and approval as needed on tasks, project initiatives and milestones
    • Proactively schedule own time as necessary, notify Managers and Lead Artists in advance of upcoming roadblocks and challenges
  • Team and personal development
    • Consistently refine one’s own artistic abilities and learn new software packages and in-house tools
    • Contribute and help build a positive team environment


Requirements

  • Full proficiency in software packages and tools of the games industry listed below
    • 3ds Max/Maya
    • Substance Painter
    • Zbrush
    • Photoshop
    • PBR workflow
  • Surface knowledge on the following softwares and tools
    • Blender
  • Intermediate proficiency in the following tools:
    • Unreal Engine Character Setup
    • Unreal Engine Rendering (Lighting, Rendering)
    • Highly proficient in one of the following disciplines and/or intermediate in all of them
    • Human Anatomy
    • Creature Anatomy
    • Hard Surface Modeling
    • Cloth Sculpting or Simulation
  • Passion for game development.
  • Proficiency in Game Engine technologies such as Unreal with asset integration
  • Experience with the game art asset pipeline, i.e. highpoly and efficient game ready lowpoly modelling, texturing and baking.


Pluses:

  • Familiarity with other game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity, etc.)
  • Capable of working in other art disciplines (Concept Art, Rig, Animation, VFX, etc).
