Job Description

The Account Manager is responsible for developing new business relationships and serving as the first level of support to existing B2B clients. This role involves understanding TransPerfect's services, identifying and developing new client relationships through various channels, and managing sales opportunities. The Account Manager will also provide customer support, manage client expectations, and handle contractual issues, while actively learning about client industries to identify new business opportunities.
Must have:
  • Develop an effective understanding of TransPerfect’s services
  • Identify prospective customers and individual organizations for sales activities
  • Develop new client relationships via cold calling, Internet, and trade shows
  • Identify, qualify, develop and close sales opportunities in coordination with Sales Management
  • Promote and educate clients regarding TransPerfect’s services
  • Provide customer support and manage client expectations in liaison with the Production Management Team
  • Manage and control pricing and contractual issues by understanding company procedures
  • Learn about each client’s industry, business needs and company culture to identify new business opportunities and provide high service
  • Perform other special projects or duties when required
  • Interest in or previous experience in Strategic Business Development and/or Client Services/Account Management
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Superior written and spoken communication skills in English, French and/or Dutch (Belgium)
  • Good analytical skills needed to project revenues, monitor budgets and other necessary calculations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent
  • Ability to commute to our Brussels office 5 days per week
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Work well with people from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures
  • Build strategic relationships with clients and co-workers
  • Work as part of a team
  • Take active measures to solve problems
  • Commit to a high level of service
Good to have:
  • Previous Account Management experience is beneficial

  • Identify prospective customers and individual organizations to focus on sales activities
  • Develop new client relationships via cold calling, Internet, and trade shows
  • In coordination with Sales Management, identify, qualify, develop and close sales opportunities
  • Promote and educate clients regarding TransPerfect’s services
  • Provide customer support and manage client expectations in liaison with the Production Management Team
  • Manage and control pricing and contractual issues by developing a thorough understanding of company procedures
  • Take an active role in learning about each client’s industry, business needs and company culture to identify new business opportunities and provide a high level of service
  • Perform other special projects or duties when required

Required skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Interest in or previous experience in Strategic Business Development and/or Client Services/Account Management

  • Most importantly, the ideal candidate must demonstrate ability to: multitask in a fast-paced environment, work well with people from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures, build strategic relationships with clients and co-workers, work as part of a team, take active measures to solve problems and commit to a high level of service
