Job Description

The Payment Operations Analyst for Accounts Receivable Operations will be responsible for timely payment application against open AR, resolving unmatched cash for invoiced merchants, and supporting match-pass automation. The role involves handling complex escalations, driving resolutions to meet SLAs, and requires integrity, confidentiality, and strong communication skills.
Must have:
  • Timely reconciliation of General Ledger accounts
  • Accurate clearing of reconciling items per Company Policy
  • Accurate posting of general ledger entries in SAP
  • Research and resolve outstanding reconciling items
  • Participate in month-end close activities
  • Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities
  • Communicate with internal resources to resolve differences
  • Drive technology adoption for efficiency
  • Assist with escalated cases
  • Minimum 2 years relevant work experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of basic US GAAP accounting practices
  • Experience working with US companies
  • Experience with B2B collections
  • Experience with inbox and ticketing management support (JIRA or Salesforce)
  • Experience around process improvement with example of cost savings projects
  • Experience working with cross functional and international teams
  • Significant skills/experience in MS Excel, analytics, and process management
  • Strong independent organizational skills
  • Strong capabilities in second order thinking with research diligence
  • Strong operating procedures (SOP) and requirement document (BRD) building
  • Knowledge of PayPal and its adjacent products
  • Payments industry background
  • IT background
  • Accounting/Banking background
  • Experience with SAP ECC

Job Summary:

The Global Finance Operations organization is seeking a Payment Operations Analyst for the Accounts Receivable Operations team. This role is to (1) apply timely payment application against open AR (2) resolve unmatched cash for invoiced merchants (3) support match-pass automation. Role is expected to take charge of complex escalations and drive resolution to meet SLA. We are looking for candidates with integrity, confidentiality, and strong communication skills.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for timely and effective reconciliation of all assigned General Ledger accounts
  • Ensure accurate clearing of reconciling items in accordance with Company Policy
  • Ensure accurate posting of general ledger entries in SAP and customer accounts
  • Involved in research, track, and timely resolve outstanding reconciling items and related issues
  • Apply advanced research techniques to accurately identify the source of reconciling items
  • Participate in month-end close activities
  • Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities in reporting, reconciliation, and analysis
  • Communicate with internal resources and/or processors to escalate and resolve differences
  • Drive technology adoption and changes to improve efficiency
  • Assist with escalated cases

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Knowledge of basic US GAAP accounting practices
  • Experience working with US companies
  • Experience with B2B collections
  • Experience with inbox and ticketing management support (JIRA or Salesforce)
  • Experience around process improvement with example of cost savings projects
  • Experience working with cross functional and international teams
  • Significant skills/experience in MS Excel, analytics, and process management
  • Demonstrates strong independent organizational skills
  • Demonstrates strong capabilities in second order thinking with research diligence
  • Demonstrates strong operating procedures (SOP) and requirement document (BRD) building, including strong understanding around product requirement, data structure, and merchant record (MOR) data management
  • Knowledge of its adjacent products preferred
  • Payments industry background a plus
  • IT background a plus
  • Accounting/Banking background a plus
  • Experience with SAP ECC a plus
