Job Description

The R&D Design Leader is accountable for ensuring compliance with engineering processes and design rules. This includes planning, monitoring, and controlling activities according to engineering discipline, robust design and validation in line with economical targets, reviewing requirements, and performing design calculations and simulations. The role involves applying standardization rules and preparing for design reviews. Additionally, the leader is responsible for detailed scheduling and budgeting, identifying resource needs, managing contributors, assigning work packages, and ensuring alignment with hierarchical needs. The job emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to sustainable development within a global, multi-cultural environment.

Accountable for :
Complying with Engineering disciplines processes and Design Rules:
● Plan, monitor and control activities according to Engineering discipline PD of his/her PG/PL following CPM
(CLEAN Project Management)
● In charge of the robust design / validation in line with the economical targets
● Review Internal requirements, Customer Requirements, Specifications
● Perform or support design calculations / simulations / coding / associated acceptance tests
● Applies Standardization rules, exceptionally will request destandardizations based on justifications
● Responsible for Engineering discipline design reviews preparation
● Interface with the customer for the Engineering discipline content
● Report and escalate to the Product Technical Manager/Leader/Eng and his Hierarchical
Responsible for the detailed scheduling and budgeting
● Contribute to the identification of the needs in terms of resources, equipments, investments
● Establish detail breakdown of the activities to meet the milestones
● Follow activities and spending of his scope to meet his allowed budget and timing
Management of the contributors
● Daily management of his group
● Assign to them the needed work packages
● Regular review with his/her Hierarchical to check alignment between needs and availabilities
