Job Summary:
This job engages with team members to contribute to credit portfolio solutions and efficiencies. They assist in monitoring credit risks and follow established processes to support management efforts. Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform portions of risk assessments and credit worthiness requiring financial knowledge and developing business expertise
- Support and may lead regulatory projects of limited scope impacting PayPal's compliance standards
- Analyze and risk mitigation recommendations within limited parameters under regular supervision
- Receive regular and general instruction and guidance from more experienced colleagues on work in the form of specific objectives

You'll play a pivotal role in identifying and mitigating risks tied to customer onboarding and underwriting, helping to uphold our commitment to compliance, trust, and security across markets.
Your day to day
In your day to day role you will...
- Conduct comprehensive reviews and risk assessments of new and existing customers during onboarding and underwriting.
- Analyze a wide range of data, including business models, credit scores, industry information and products to assess merchant financial health and potential risks to PayPal.
- Estimate potential financial exposures and determine the need for risk mitigation measures.
- Perform thorough analyses of high-risk customer segments and potential AML, financial crime and suspicious activities across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure compliance with Acceptable Use Policy, Know Your Customer (KYC) efforts and Customer Identification Program (CIP) requirements.
- Identify trends and potential risk factors in customer data, ensuring alignment with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Apply analytic techniques to complex information sets to make logical and supported recommendations.
- Develop a holistic view of both individual sellers and merchants across industries by proposing appropriate recommendations to mitigate PayPal’s risk and manage seller experience.
- Exercise good judgment in making decisions or recommendations related to case investigations.
- Document findings in narrative format within the case management system and prepare reports for management.
- Ensure high-quality reviews and maintain performance in the Quality Control Program.
- Communicate risk insights and recommendations professionally and effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on data, tools, processes and assessment methodologies for continuous improvement.
- Stay current on merchant industry trends that impact the Commercial Merchant Segment.
What do you need to bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a comparable field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of professional experience in Commercial Lending, Commercial Underwriting, Credit Risk Assessment, Financial Statement Analysis.
- Relevant experience such as investigations related to Fraud, Anti-Money Laundering, Customer/Enhanced Due Diligence.
- Proven ability to analyze large amounts of data to report critical information with a high attention to detail and create reports on critical information.
- Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information accurately, clearly and quickly to all levels.
- Ability to work efficiently with an attention to detail in investigations, analysis and writing.
- Engage with peers, all levels of management, and other internal or external constituents to deliver comprehensive reviews and analysis.
- Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues and to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints.
- Ability to directly communicate with internal and external stakeholders professionally and effectively.
- Proficient (both written and spoken) in English.
- High level of professionalism, self-motivation and sense of urgency.
