Job Description

This role involves joining the Corporate Engineering team as a Manager, Reliability Engineer. The primary focus is to enable CE DevOps teams to bring new software or features to production quickly and safely. Key responsibilities include developing reliability engineering strategies, ensuring support for central requirements, automating operational tasks, supporting compliance and risk management, and monitoring IT operations performance. The role requires strong technical skills, including experience with AWS, DevOps tools like Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and proficiency in Python. The ideal candidate should have 12 years of experience with Windows/Linux servers and cloud services, incident management experience, and excellent communication skills. The candidate should be able to work independently, in a team environment and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
Must have:

Position: Manager, Reliability Engineer (RE)
Department: Corporate Engineering within Reliability Engineering & Enablement (REE)

Overview:
 In this role, you will join our Corporate Engineering team within REE as a Manager, Reliability Engineer. This team acts as a bridge between REE, Corporate Engineering and LSEG central engineering, operations, and compliance teams. The primary focus is to enable our CE DevOps teams to bring new software or features to production quickly and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement reliability engineering strategies focused on scalability and system performance.
  • Central Requirements: Ensure all central requirements and changes are supported via aligned REE squads. The team will either directly implement the technical changes required or lead CE coordinated efforts where there are multiple capability dependencies.
  • Tooling and Automation: Ensure correct tooling standards are followed, and operational tasks are automated.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Support CE compliance, security controls, and risk management.
  • Performance Monitoring: Ensure an acceptable level of IT operations performance and error risk in line with service level agreements (SLAs). Continuously review operating metrics and data to identify improvement opportunities.

Tech Profile / Essential Skills

  • Technical Profile / Essential Skills:
  • AWS: Associate Architect or relevant experience.
  • DevOps: Experience with Terraform, CI/CD Pipeline, and API.
  • Coding: Proficiency in Python.
  • System Engineering: Experience with Red Hat/Windows.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience: 12 years of hands-on experience with Windows/Linux servers and cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Framework Knowledge: Familiarity with the ITIL framework.
  • Incident Management: Experience managing incidents, change requests, service requests, and driving TRT (Technical Recovery Team) calls.
  • Troubleshooting: Strong troubleshooting skills on relevant platforms.
  • Financial Markets: Basic understanding of financial markets is desirable.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Multitasking: Ability to manage own work and multitask to meet tight deadlines without losing sight of priorities.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including change, operations, and product management to ensure reliability engineering is integrated into the product lifecycle.
  • Motivation: Highly motivated, self-directed individual with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Customer Focus: Customer and service-focused, with determination to meet their needs and expectations.
  • Metrics and KPIs: Define and track key metrics and KPIs to measure reliability engineering success, including uptime, response time, error rate, and MTTR.
