Job Description

PhonePe, a leading Indian digital payments app with over 600 Million users, is seeking an Area Collections Manager for Delhi NCR. This role involves strategizing and driving collections, ensuring compliance, controlling roll rates, and recovering overdue payments. The manager will also focus on improving resolution rates, developing collection strategies, and enhancing process efficiency. The position requires strong analytical skills, stakeholder management, and a results-oriented approach, contributing to PhonePe's vision of accelerating financial progress.
Must have:
  • Manage and strategize collections for the assigned region.
  • Drive compliance to collection processes.
  • Control roll rates and recover overdue payments.
  • Drive higher resolution rates and review collections KPI.
  • Develop and execute collection strategies.
  • Identify and improve collections processes for efficiency.
  • Understand and implement collections SOP.
  • Design and implement Compliance & Controls for collections unit.
  • Monitor and review delinquent portfolio daily for location-level strategy.
  • Possess an MBA/Graduate degree with at least 5 years of collections experience.
  • Mandatory experience in New age NBFCs, Banks, or Fintech.
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making, ability to work under pressure, and effective communication.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Managing the portfolio by strategizing and driving collections for the assigned region.
  • Driving the compliance to collection processes in the assigned region
  • Responsible for controlling the roll rates and recovery of overdue from the delinquent pool & controlling bucket wise delinquencies.
  • Drive Higher resolution rates across buckets. Reviewing collections KPI to deliver superior client experience.
  • Develop and execute collection strategies consistent with the nature of exposure and gravity of delays in payment.
  • Identify, develop and continuously improve collections process to ensure overall efficiency
  • Develop in an in-depth understanding collections SOP and drive implementation
  • Accountable for designing and implementing Compliance &; Controls for collections unit in line with regulatory guidelines.
  • Daily monitoring and regular reviews of delinquent portfolio to make location level strategy for smooth operations.

  • Analytical: Drive specific process efficiency metrics and be accountable to drive data-driven decision making.
  • Managing Stakeholder: Manage disagreements maturely and align stakeholders. Communicate proactively and help bring clarity around deliverables and owners.
  • Results Oriented: Deliver on short-term goals and long-term milestones set by business.

  • Must be MBA/Graduate and above and have at least 5 years; experience in collections.
  • Experience in New age NBFCs or Banks or Fintech is mandatory.
