About the Role and the Team
 

This role will be part of the management team and supports them to drive the store’s performance especially relating to Shrinkage. The role also reports into the Asset Protection Manager. Furthermore, the role represents the Disney brand and ensures that Guests have magnificent experiences throughout the Store in a safe and secure environment. Their standards are consistently high, and they set the example for the delivery of outstanding Asset Protection standards. They mentor and are a role model for Cast Members in relation to Asset Protection and work with the rest of the management team to create an energetic work environment, to direct the company’s initiatives and to achieve its goals!

What You Will Do

  • Supervise entry/exit points, patrolling the store, monitors ‘Hot Spot’ areas with a history of theft, acting as a deterrent, whilst alert to any threat to Guest, Cast Members or store.

  • Radios, CCTV and EAS equipment used appropriately, and daily checks are actioned to ensure good working order.

  • Bags, Pockets and lockers searched without prejudice in a professional manner with employee’s knowledge to meet The Disney Store SOP.

  • All staff and visitors search recorded and signed off by all parties.

  • Identifies any issues ensuring a safe working environment to prevent injury to self, colleagues and Guests throughout all areas.

  • Supervises Fire exits and corridors to ensure these are always kept clear.

  • Evacuation and power loss procedures initiated; regular tests completed and documented with store manager.

  • Attends court on behalf of the company as required.

Results

  • Achieves shrinkage financial aims, as agreed, through appropriate actions, controls and use of Guest service behaviours.

  • Cash variances are reduced and the opportunity for fraud or theft mitigated.

  • Monitors weekly store shrinkage performance and inventory adjustments (MOS) to highlight areas of loss and propose remedial action. Cycle Counts are completed accurately and are checked, and inventory integrity maintained as directed by the Inventory Management team.

  • Any communication with both Police is carried out in an effective and professional manner.

Support

  • Visitors book completed and badges worn by all visitors and supervises the issuing of locker keys and access fobs.

  • Liaises with Store Manager in the investigation of identified cash variances and ensures that all MOS adjustments are appropriately investigated.

  • To assist in ensuring that delivery/ collection manifests are checked and in order.

  • Assists Store Manager with induction training of all new employees in all areas relevant to Loss Prevention.

  • Delivers targeted training and mentor sessions with employees to raise awareness and solve the root causes of shrinkage within the store

  • Delivers awareness of “Hot Spots” for theft training and supervises any changes to the layout that may affect these.

Contribution

  • Calls police in line with The Disney Store SOP procedures or as advised by Loss Prevention Representative/Store Manager.

  • Accurate and legible reports are recorded on the intranet Loss Prevention Field Report function

  • Complete police witness statements and internal company documents ensuring they are accurate, legible and filed appropriately. Relevant in-store filing systems are clear and accessible.

  • Leads by example in relation to grooming guidelines

  • Reviews Loss Prevention SOP’s and makes recommendations for improvements

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Loss prevention/security experience within a retail environment.

  • Experience of training personnel in security and Asset Protection processes

  • Has a detailed understanding of security procedures, regulations and practices.

  • Understands the basic Health and Safety practices and procedures
