Job Summary
Northeastern University School of Law seeks full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty for Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor positions. Candidates should have research, teaching, or service experience contributing to the rule of law, with a scholarly focus on AI regulation, policy, governance, internet, and democracy. Responsibilities include teaching JD, LLM, graduate, or undergraduate law courses, advising students, conducting scholarly research, and providing service to the Law School, University, and legal profession.
Must Have
- Hold a Juris Doctor (JD) or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Conduct scholarly research.
- Teach law courses at Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Laws (LLM), graduate or undergraduate levels.
- Advise students.
- Provide service to the Law School, the University, and the legal profession.

About the Opportunity
Northeastern University School of Law is seeking candidates at all ranks for a full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty position whose research, teaching, professional experience, and/or service have prepared them to contribute to our holistic commitment to the rule of law. We are looking for candidates with a scholarly focus in artificial intelligence regulation, policy, and governance; internet and democracy. Opportunities are also available for candidates whose background and qualifications might allow for a faculty appointment within the law school as well as within another department inside Northeastern University’s many outstanding schools and colleges.
The School of Law is a national leader in experiential legal education, with a deep commitment to law in service of the public interest and to engaged scholarship and interdisciplinary collaboration. In making faculty appointments, the School of Law seeks to enhance its innovative curriculum, which combines experiential learning with rigorous analytical training and interdisciplinarity.
The search committee is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to the excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service. Responsibilities:
Faculty duties will include teaching law courses at the Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Laws (LLM), graduate or undergraduate levels, advising students, conducting scholarly research, and providing service to the Law School, the University, and the legal profession.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution by the employment start date. Academic rank at the Associate Professor and Full Professor levels will be commensurate with experience and qualifications reflecting a record of demonstrated scholarly and teaching excellence. Appointments at the Associate Professor rank require a minimum of 3 years of related experience. Appointments at the Full Professor rank require a minimum of 6 years of related experience.

Pay Range:
Assistant Professor: $146,000.00 - $170,000.00 | Associate Professor: $148,000.00 - $203,000.00 | Professor: $217,000.00 - $243,000.00
With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
