Sustainalytics is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Sales to join its London-based team, focusing on the UK market. This role is for individuals passionate about ESG and sustainable finance, working with asset managers and banks transitioning to responsible investment. The successful candidate will play a leading role in developing and implementing Sustainalytics' business development strategy, growing a robust sales pipeline, and fostering strategic client relationships. This position emphasizes being a prominent business developer and an ambassador for Sustainalytics, contributing to the overall team's success and growth in the expanding market.

  • Demonstrated passion for sustainability and an alignment with Sustainalytics’ mission, vision, and values
  • Minimum 5 years of financial services, responsible investment, or sustainability-related work experience
  • Degree in related discipline (business, finance, environment and/or social sciences)
  • Proven track record of commercial skills, or client relations
  • Ability to take the initiative and think creatively and proactively
  • A natural storyteller, able to understand and present complex products in an engaging way
  • English language proficiency (essential)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the investment industry and the use of ESG research
  • Genuine team player, who operates with a high level of integrity and enjoys working collaboratively

We are looking to expand our team with an experienced person taking a leading role to contribute to our growth in the UK market. This is an excellent opportunity to become a prominent business developer for Sustainalytics and help us grow our position in this ever-expanding market. Your clear understanding of our clients and prospects and their business drivers will be the key to success. This role has a strong emphasis on relationship development with clients and prospects and you will be an ambassador for Sustainalytics from early on.

Job Responsibilities

  • Play a leading role in developing and implementing Sustainalytics business development strategy for the UK
  • Grow and maintain a robust sales pipeline by:
  • Taking ownership of and successfully closing incoming opportunities
  • Actively identifying and generating opportunities across the UK financial market
  • Further developing strategic relationships
  • Responding to requests for proposals
  • Identifying and developing new use cases for our data/analysis
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to institutional & retail investors, banks, and insurers on how to apply Responsible Investment strategies and incorporate our products and services
  • Staying on top of market developments, identify, and share product innovation opportunities
  • Representing the company at industry events and conferences as well as public speaking engagements
  • Build, maintain and extend professional networks
  • Further develop ESG and investment industry knowledge
  • Foster an inclusive culture and work environment, as this is a key component of Sustainalytics’ success
  • We work daily with colleagues in our other European offices as well as in the US and Canada, so the desire to work very closely with a diverse team from many different cultures is critical to working at Sustainalytics

Qualifications

The ideal candidate needs to be an ambitious team player who can both succeed individually, as well as reaching goals through close collaboration with other team members. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated passion for sustainability and an alignment with Sustainalytics’ mission, vision, and values
  • Minimum 5 years of financial services, responsible investment, or sustainability-related work experience
  • Degree in related discipline (business, finance, environment and/or social sciences)
  • Proven track record of commercial skills, or client relations
  • Ability to take the initiative and think creatively and proactively
  • A natural storyteller, you can understand and present complex products in an engaging way
  • English (essential), further relevant European languages such as Spanish, German or Italian are a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the investment industry and the use of ESG research
