As the Associate Director, Sub-Regional Marketing Business Partner at Illumina in France, you will be a key member of the Regional Field Marketing organization and the sub-regional General Manager's extended leadership team. You will be responsible for developing, managing, and implementing strategic marketing plans aligned with sub-regional business plans. This includes marketing strategies and go-to-market tactics for Illumina’s on-market product portfolio and new product introductions to reach target customer segments. Your role will require a strong understanding of healthcare, commercial, and research customer types, as well as branding, content creation and deployment, digital marketing, and the unique needs of marketing in France.
Must have:
  • Develop, manage, and implement strategic marketing plans aligned with sub-regional business plans.
  • Develop marketing strategies and go-to-market tactics for on-market product portfolio and new product introductions.
  • Formulate go-to-market strategies and drive execution with clear milestones and action plans.
  • Ensure marketing plans are relevant to specific market and customers, aligning with Illumina’s strategies, product positioning, and branding.
  • Collaborate with Regional Field Marketing Programs, Events, Tradeshows, and Digital shared resource teams.
  • Balance OpEx for plans with revenue commitments across Sub-region and Region.
  • Align with regional business plan targets and reverse waterfall KPIs for pipeline health and coverage.
  • Build target customer engagement plans in sub-region for current and new customers.
  • Work with campaign managers and ComOps partners to analyze and report on marketing campaigns and activities.
  • Track leads generated from marketing activities and evaluate omni-channel marketing programs.
  • Serve as the sub-regional marketing point of contact across numerous functions.
  • Engage with product marketing, TAMs, and market analysts to conduct in-depth market research and analysis.
  • Develop and manage the customer segment marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing ROI.

The Role

As the Associate Director, Sub-Regional Marketing Business Partner here at Illumina in France, you will be a key member of the Regional Field Marketing organization and the sub-regional General Manager's extended leadership team.

Why You

You will have a bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related subject area, with an M.BA being preferred.

Your experience in a marketing role, responsible for product or portfolio marketing, go-to-market strategy, and execution, will be essential. A deep understanding of multiomics would be an advantage.

Proficiency in the 4Ps and marketing mix, media outreach, content strategy/marketing, VOC/VOS, segmentation, multi-channel lead generation, value proposition, demand/lead generation strategies, and marketing program development and execution will be crucial.

You will have the ability to prioritize and influence without authority in a large organization within a highly matrixed environment. Your collaborative approach to developing and sharing strategy, tactics, and analytics, along with your creativity, problem-solving ability, strong analytical and execution skills, will make you a perfect fit for this role.

You will be highly organized, intellectually curious, and comfortable in a hands-on role, analyzing what’s working and what’s not. Strategic focus and the ability to lead teams without authority will be key to your success. Travel is required (~25%).

Key Responsibilities

Formulate Marketing Plans

  • Develop go-to-market strategies and drive execution with clear milestones and action plans.
  • Ensure marketing plans are relevant to the specific market and customers while aligning with Illumina’s strategies, product positioning, and branding.

Develop Marketing Tactics Flight Plan

  • Collaborate with Regional Field Marketing Programs, Events, Tradeshows, and Digital shared resource teams.
  • Balance OpEx for plans with revenue commitments across Sub-region and Region together with the Head of Regional Field Marketing.

Assess Customer Pipeline Marketing KPIs

  • Align with regional business plan targets and reverse waterfall KPIs for pipeline health and coverage.
  • Build target customer engagement plans in sub-region for current and new customers together with GM, Sales, Sales Specialists, Strategic Growth, and Global teams.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Work with campaign managers and ComOps partners to analyze and report on the performance of marketing campaigns and activities.
  • Track leads generated from marketing activities and evaluate the performance of omni-channel marketing programs.

Collaborate in a Matrixed Organization

  • Serve as the sub-regional marketing point of contact across numerous functions, including Global Product and Customer Segment Marketing.
  • Engage with product marketing, TAMs, and market analysts to conduct in-depth market research and analysis.

Budget Management

  • Develop and manage the customer segment marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing ROI.
