Job Description

Contributes to technical management, inclusive of budget and schedule, for an attraction or attractions under an area of responsibility. Responsible for supporting the successful specification, bid/award, design, production, installation, and acceptance testing of Ride and/or Show systems, to include Audio Visual and Projection systems. Provides engineering technical support, reviews vendor documents, edits specifications, assists in vendor management, and develops/executes test protocols.
Good To Have:
  • Advanced Degree preferred.
  • Project experience within the entertainment/theme park industry.
  • Experience in theme park development, construction, show and ride systems design or fabrication.
Must Have:
  • Contribute to technical management, including budget and schedule, for attractions.
  • Support specification, bid/award, design, production, installation, and acceptance testing of Ride and/or Show systems, including Audio Visual and Projection systems.
  • Provide engineering technical (calculation, design, drafting, research) support to Ride/Show teams.
  • Review vendor-provided design review documents (drawings, components, calculations, test plans, test results).
  • Edit and update Ride/Show engineering specifications for Audio/Visual/Projection.
  • Assist in managing vendors through bidding, designing, manufacturing, testing, shipping, installation, start up, and commissioning of Audio/Visual/Projection systems.
  • Review, edit, or develop test protocols, procedures, and plans.
  • Execute witness or approve testing and test results as assigned.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's Degree in applicable technical field (e.g., AV Production, AV Technology, Visual Effects) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in direct theme park specific technical/engineering roles supporting Audio/Visual/Projection systems or similar experience.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract/concrete variables.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Contributes to technical management, inclusive of budget and schedule, for an attraction or attractions under an area of responsibility. Responsible for supporting the successful specification, bid/award, design, production, installation, and acceptance testing of Ride and/or Show systems, to include Audio Visual and Projection systems.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides engineering technical (calculation, design, drafting, research) support to the Ride/Show teams.
  • Reviews portions of vendor-provided design review documents, including drawing review, component selection review, calculation review, test plan review, test results review, or review of other deliverable items as specified by engineering management.
  • Edits and updates Ride/Show engineering specifications as specifically assigned by Ride/Show engineering management in support of Audio/Visual/Projection.
  • Assists Ride/Show team in managing vendors through the process of bidding, designing, manufacturing, testing, shipping, installation, start up, and commissioning of Audio/Visual/Projection systems.
  • Reviews, edits, or develops test protocols, procedures, and plans. Executes witness or approve testing and test results as assigned and authorised by Engineering & Safety management (20%)
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in applicable technical field required (examples include, but are not limited to, AV Production, AV Technology, Visual Effects) or equivalent demonstrated skill and experience. Advanced Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in direct theme park specific technical/engineering roles supporting Audio/Visual/Projection systems required (examples include, but are not limited to, audio systems, video display technology, projection systems, acoustics, projection mapping, laser systems) or similar experience in related technical field.

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Project experience within the entertainment/theme park industry preferred. Any experience in theme park development, construction, show and ride systems design or fabrication is preferred.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
