Job Description

Join our team as an Associate Product Support Engineer focused exclusively on Hadoop distributed systems. In this customer-facing role, you will support enterprise clients by troubleshooting and resolving issues within Hadoop environments. You will work closely with experienced engineers, ensuring the stability and reliability of our customers’ Hadoop infrastructures. Key responsibilities include providing technical support for Hadoop clusters, troubleshooting and resolving problems related to Hadoop core components (HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Hive), performing basic administrative tasks such as installation, configuration, and upgrades of Hadoop clusters, collaborating with customers to understand their issues and deliver effective solutions, and documenting troubleshooting steps and solutions for knowledge sharing.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with Spark, NiFi, and HBase
  • Exposure to data security and data engineering principles
  • Prior customer-facing technical support experience
  • Experience with Salesforce & Jira
  • Experience with Python and Bash scripting
Must Have:
  • 3 years of hands-on experience as a Hadoop Administrator or similar role
  • Strong understanding of Hadoop architecture and core components
  • Proven experience troubleshooting Hadoop issues
  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems
  • Good communication skills with a customer-first mindset
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities

    • Provide technical support for Hadoop clusters, addressing customer issues with empathy and professionalism.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to Hadoop core components (HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Hive, etc.).
    • Perform basic administrative tasks such as installation, configuration, and upgrades of Hadoop clusters.
    • Collaborate with customers to understand their issues and deliver effective solutions.
    • Document troubleshooting steps and solutions for knowledge sharing.


Required Skills & Experience

    • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a Hadoop Administrator or in a similar Hadoop support role.
    • Strong understanding of Hadoop architecture and core components (HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Hive).
    • Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving Hadoop-related issues.
    • Proficiency in Linux operating systems.
    • Good communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.

Good to Have

    • Experience with components like Spark, NiFi, and HBase will be considered an added advantage.
    • Exposure to data security and data engineering principles within Hadoop environments is a plus.
    • Prior experience in a customer-facing technical support role is an added advantage.
    • Prior experience with tools like Salesforce & Jira
    • Experience with automation and scripting languages, such as Python and Bash, is a plus.
