Job Summary
Kforce is seeking an experienced AWS Engineer for a hybrid, onsite, direct hire opportunity. This role involves architecting and managing cloud infrastructure, automating deployment processes, and optimizing the AWS environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in AWS services, infrastructure as code, and cloud security best practices. Responsibilities also include administration, configuration, and optimization of the Atlassian ecosystem, providing training and support for collaboration and project management.
Must Have
- Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure (EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, Lambda, Amplify, CloudWatch, CLI, API Integrations) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Monitor system performance and implement optimizations for high availability and reliability.
- Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform in GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate routine tasks and implement monitoring solutions (CloudWatch, AWS Systems Manager).
- Administer and configure Atlassian ecosystem (Jira Service Management, Confluence), including user management, workflows, and integrations.
- 3+ years of experience with AWS service and cloud architecture.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, security principles, and Linux/Unix systems.
- Experience with Terraform for IaC and GitLab.
- Proficiency in Python.
Good to Have
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer).
- Experience with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, Event Bridge).
- Experience with multi-account AWS environments and AWS Organizations.
- Previous experience in an Agile development environment.
- Hands-on experience with Atlassian tool suite (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence) configuration, administration, API Integrations, and customization.
- Experience with incident management and on-call escalation support.

We're looking for an experienced AWS Engineer to architect and manage cloud infrastructure, automate deployment processes, and optimize our AWS environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in AWS services, infrastructure as code, and cloud security best practices, combined with excellent collaboration skills and a strong work ethic. This role will also be responsible for administration, configuration, and optimization of our Atlassian ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure including EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, Lambda, Amplify, CloudWatch, CLI, API Integrations and other core services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and reliability across all environments
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform in GitLab CI/CD pipelines
- Automate routine tasks and implement monitoring solutions using CloudWatch, AWS Systems Manager, and third-party tools
- Administer and configure the Atlassian ecosystem (Jira Service Management, Confluence) including user management, custom workflows, permission schemes, and integrations while providing training and support to enable teams' collaboration, project management, and service operations across the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer) preferred
- 3+ years of experience with AWS service and cloud architecture, or 5+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree
- Experience with supporting AWS environments in production
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, security principles, and Linux/Unix systems
- Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitLab
- Proficiency in Python (must have)
- Experience with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, Event Bridge) would be a plus
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with multi-account AWS environments and AWS Organizations
- Previous experience in an Agile development environment
- Hands-on experience with Atlassian tool suite (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence) including configuration, administration, API Integrations, and customization

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
