Job Description
As a Backend Developer Team Lead at Varonis, you will lead a team of at least 4 Engineers through the entire application lifecycle, from design to production. You will work closely with product managers and collaborate with other teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality products. Your responsibilities include enforcing best practices in development, such as code reviews, testing, and documentation, as well as mentoring and guiding team members. You will manage project timelines and resources for timely delivery and keep stakeholders updated on project status. Varonis focuses on data security, protecting data from the inside out with an autonomous Data Security Platform.
Must have:
- Lead a team of at least 4 Engineers
- Participate in entire application lifecycle
- Work closely with product manager
- Collaborate with other teams
- Ensure best practices in development
- Mentor and guide team members
- Manage project timelines and resources
- Work independently and update stakeholders
- At least 3 years as Team Leader
- At least 6 years as Software Engineer (C# preferred)
- Working with multi-threaded environment and large-scale systems
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent written communication
- Excellent problem-solving skills
Good to have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science
- Deep interest in Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Foundational knowledge in Prompt Engineering
- Proficiency with cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Knowledge of Python

Responsibilities
- Lead a team of at least 4 Engineers
- Participate in the entire application lifecycle, from design to production
- Work closely with the team’s product manager
- Collaborate with other teams
- Lead and manage a team of software developers to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality products.
- Ensure best practices in development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Mentor and guide team members to help them reach their professional goals.
- Manage project timelines, resources to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Work independently and keep stakeholders updated on project status and address any concerns.
Desired Skills & Experience
- At least 3 years as Team Leader of R&D
- At least 6 years of proven experience as a Software Engineer (C# preferred)
- Working with a multi-threaded environment and on large-scale systems
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent written communication and problem-solving skills.
- Deep interest and foundational knowledge in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Prompt Engineering.
- Proficiency with cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, or GCP (advantageous).
- Knowledge of Python (advantageous).
