Job Description
Zscaler is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join the Avalor Engineering team. This role involves developing and maintaining high-quality, scalable backend services within a microservices architecture using Java/Spring Boot and Python. The engineer will be responsible for leading solution design from concept to production, monitoring service performance and cost, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position focuses on curating and contextualizing data from security and business tools to enhance companies' security posture.

Must Have:
- Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable backend services within a microservices architecture using Java/Spring Boot and Python
- Lead and design solutions from scratch to production
- Monitor the performance and cost of the services in production
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our technology stack and development processes
- Integrate with other team members (backend/frontend/product/UX)
- 5+ years of proven backend software engineering experience
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages: Java/Springboot, C#/.Net Core
- Proficiency in various big data stores such as Snowflake, Vertica, Elastic Search, BigQuery
- Experience with developing SAAS products over public cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, GCP
- Proficiency in high scale, multi tenant cloud architecture; queues, locks, scheduling, workload distribution, ETL workflows

- Monitoring the performance and cost of the services in production
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our technology stack and development processes

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- Must have 5+ years of proven backend software engineering experience
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages: Java/Springboot, C#/.Net Core
