Granicus is looking for an enthusiastic and organized Benefits Specialist to oversee the day-to-day employee benefit operations for Granicus’s benefits packages. This individual will be an integral part of our global benefits team to ensure our plans run smoothly. Responsibilities include: handling the benefit enrollment , orientation processes and employee inquiries. The ideal candidate is thorough and detail-oriented and has experience assisting employees with benefit enrollment at all stages of the employee life cycle.

What your impact will look like here
- Understands the confidential nature of HR data and adheres to all Granicus policies related to confidentiality and security of personal information in all communications and transactions.
- Provides exemplary customer service through effective, proactive interaction and the appropriate and timely escalation of issues to the Benefits Analyst or HR Management as needed.
- Manages the Benefits inbox, responding to basic inquiries and escalating complex issues to the Benefits Analyst, insurance providers, or broker.
- Leads benefit orientation presentations for new hire groups and ad hoc throughout the year.
- Assists in developing and distributing benefits communications such as FAQs, intranet updates, and newsletters to enhance employee understanding and engagement.
- Assists employees with the benefit enrollment process and oversees COBRA administration; translates insurance-related jargon into commonly known terms for clarification purposes.
- Employs a methodical approach to reviewing and processing benefit elections throughout the employee life cycle, including at hire and termination, and in the event of qualifying life events.
- Reconcile benefit billings on a monthly basis for all benefit vendors and compares changes against recent enrollment activity.
- Troubleshoots fundamental benefits application issues by diagnosing causes, identifying solutions, and coordinating corrective actions and/or escalation as necessary.
- Follows defined escalation protocols for resolving complex benefits issues, ensuring timely communication with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- On an annual basis, partners with the Benefits Analyst to manage open enrollment and other high-volume, high-impact enrollment events such as mergers or acquisitions.
- Supports the Benefits Analyst during implementation of new benefit programs, initiatives, and vendor renewals.
- Partners with the Benefits Analyst during routine and ad hoc audits of benefit enrollment/termination, billing/funding, and COBRA administration to ensure continued accuracy.
- Supports Global benefits initiatives, projects, and member education.
- Supports the LOA process including disability benefits claims and processes.
- Tracks and reports key performance indicators (KPIs) such as enrollment accuracy, response time to employee inquiries, and audit readiness to support continuous improvement.
- Collaborates with Payroll, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure accurate deductions, funding and compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Experience/Credentials:
- Proficiency in MS Office is required
- Basic understanding of benefit eligibility and enrollment requirements
- Working knowledge of key regulations such as ERISA, HIPAA, ACA and COBRA to ensure compliance in all benefits-related processes.
- Familiar with the federal and state laws regarding benefits and employment
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within the organization
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks requiring methodical and meticulous attention-to-detail
- Initiative to improve processes in a fast-paced work environment
- Previous experience with benefits administration platforms, insurance carrier portals and UKG (formerly UltiPro) is preferred
