Driven by the thrill of live racing, our dedicated Broadcasting team shapes the race-day experience for thousands of viewers across New Zealand and Australia by delivering content with precision, reliability, and the highest professional standards.

We’re on the lookout for a skilled Broadcast Engineer to join our Auckland team. In this role, you’ll deliver specialist technical support across both Outside Broadcast and Studio Operations, ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality live broadcasts. You'll be responsible for maintaining broadcast reliability, proactively preventing and resolving technical issues, and upholding the highest technical standards – all of which directly impact the viewing experience of our audiences. You’ll also support the training and development of colleagues, working to help strengthen capability across the team.

As a Broadcast Engineer, you'll become part of a highly experienced and knowledgeable group of professionals, offering opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute to our ongoing success. This is your chance to be immersed in the fast-paced, high-energy world of racing and live broadcasting - working alongside Team Leaders, Technicians, Camera Operators, Producers, and many other talented individuals who bring our content to life.

Where and how you can work...

We have offices expanding across multiple locations in New Zealand and Australia. This is a full-time, on-site operational role based in Auckland.

You’ll need to be flexible with shift work and team rosters throughout the week, including availability on some public holidays and weekends. At times, your role may require travel within New Zealand for short-term relief cover, where you'll support operations in other regions and collaborate closely with different teams.

Your day-to-day...

  • Collaborate across Trackside and Sport Nation engineering teams to support content delivery across multiple platforms.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment faults, implementing workarounds to ensure continuity during live operations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop long-term solutions based on fault trends and emerging issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and infrastructure to reduce downtime.
  • Work closely with on-air operations and external vendors to maintain hardware, software, and system performance.
  • Prepare operational reports detailing technical issues to support accurate and effective reporting.
  • Attend regional and national engineering meetings to share updates and resolve technical or operational challenges.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of administrative tasks, including timesheets, expenses, and vehicle compliance checks.
  • May include involvement in Vision Control, Sound/VT, and MCR Operations to support outside broadcasts, ensuring technical quality, basic audio/replay delivery, and signal monitoring in coordination with the wider Studio Operations team.

You're a match if you ideally have...

  • Technical qualification in a relevant field would be preferred.
  • IT qualification or experience, and an EAS/EST Electrical registration, would be desirable.
  • A current Full Class 1 car driver's license is essential.
  • A Full Class 2 Driver’s License is required, or a firm commitment to obtain one within 6 months of starting.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently while valuing team collaboration.
  • Strong work ethic and a growth mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning and development.
  • Forward-thinking and adaptable, able to anticipate needs and pivot in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a clear, constructive, and professional style.
