This internship position is exclusively for university students, running from January 5th to April 24th, 2026. The intern will join CAE's Image Generator team, contributing to the development and integration of software components for flight simulators, aiming to create highly realistic simulation environments. Key responsibilities include working with C++ in a Windows environment using Visual Studio, validating and integrating various technologies, and continuously improving CAE's software and development processes in collaboration with industry experts.

Must Have:

Good knowledge of object-oriented development, in C++, under Windows.
Knowledge of system programming (low level) under Windows.
Knowledge of OpenGL, 3D visualization concepts, GLSL shader.
Knowledge of optics, display systems, video interfaces, architecture and graphics capabilities of modern GPUs.
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in software engineering or computer engineering.

The role we are offering you:

By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to to in the Image generator team. You will have the opportunity to participate in the development and integration of software components that offer pilots a simulation environment of unmatched realism. Our department is responsible for display solutions, visual content and rendering, sound effects and motion generation, as well as the development of artificial intelligence for other "players" in military simulation scenarios. The software you will be contributing to will be deployed on flight simulators that will help train several pilots around the world.

Are you ready to:

Learn and evolve in the highly technological world of visual systems and flight simulator’s
Work in a fully integrated simulation environment to validate and integrate different technologies
Use C++ in a Windows environment with Visual Studio for the development
Contribute to the continuous improvement of CAE software and development processes
Work in collaboration with a team containing mixed expertise such as Image Generator industry experts

Our ideal candidate has:

Good knowledge of object-oriented development, in C ++, under Windows.
Knowledge of system programming (low level) under Windows
Knowledge of OpenGL, 3D visualization concepts, GLSL shader
Knowledge of optics, display systems, video interfaces, architecture and graphics capabilities of modern GPUs

Preferred Education

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in software engineering or computer engineering

Location of the internship is CAE Montréal.

Internship will be carried out in hybrid mode.

*All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada and must meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP). All hires will be required to complete, sign and return the Controlled Goods Program form within a week of its transmittal. They must also provide a copy of their passport or birth certificate. All students with a work permit must provide a copy of it and a police clearance certificate from the country or countries where they have resided in the past five years.

*Please take note that if you are on a student, work or international student permit, the delays for the security background check take minimum 16 weeks.
