Job Description

As a lead member of the CENE Transit Services Team, you will ensure the quality, time, and cost of all service projects in the region, aligning with the company's business development plan and achieving Engineering action plans. You will provide technical leadership to a multidisciplinary team, overseeing solutions for optimal engineering and operation performance, and leading the Engineering Department to deliver products on budget and to quality standards, ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary team.
  • Lead Engineering Department for on-budget, quality delivery.
  • Coordinate engineering teams for design competence.
  • Provide technical support for customer issues.
  • Review and validate technical tender packages.
  • Lead strategic improvements for design re-use and quality.
  • Manage compliance with legislation and standards.
  • Monitor schedules, report progress and cost.
  • Coordinate engineering functions for cost and customer optimization.
  • Prepare annual budget requests for projects.
  • Participate in Transit Services Group engineering committee.

How will you make a difference?

As a lead member of the CENE Transit Services Team you will be responsible for ensuring the Quality, Time and Cost of all service projects within the region and in alignment with the company business development plan, participating in the company’s strategic plan and ensuring the achievement of the Engineering actions plan across the assigned region

Therefore, you will be working closely with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization, including product management, operations, as well as engineering teams from other Product Lines.

What do we want to know from you?

  • You have a degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences or another technical degree.
  • You have more than 10 years of experience in Rail/Automotive or adjacent industries.
  • You are experienced in working in a multi-national and matrix organization.
  • You have Strategic management, negociation, analytical interpretation and problem-solving skills.
  • You have strong technical leadership, project management, customer service and time management skills.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Providing technical leadership and oversight to a multidisciplinary team of professionals, to collaboratively develop and deliver solutions ensuring they provide for the best engineering and operation performance of the product or system in a timely and effective manner.
  • Lead and direct the Engineering Department through coordination, meetings and monitor progress against schedules to ensure on budget delivery of products in line with the contract description and quality standards, whilst ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate the multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure that sufficient engineering competence and expertise is applied to all designs and design changes.
  • Provide Technical support for customer issues resolution.
  • Review the Technical tender package and validate the tender package
  • Lead the implementation of strategic improvement processes to maximize the re-use of existing designs in new projects; improve durability and reliability testing; and improve the quality of designs at customer release.
  • Manage compliance with applicable national and international legislation, standards and licensing requirements.
  • Monitor and review schedules to ensure timely completion and report progress and cost.
  • Coordinate the efforts between engineering functions to optimize all cost and customer requirements
  • Prepare annual budget request for projects, estimating staffing and equipment supply needs based on recent trends and planned activities.
  • Active participation in the Transit Services Group engineering committee
